A rare reward in Fortnite now lets winners claim Item Shop cosmetics free for 14 days. Called the Pirate Shop, it arrived on November 1, 2026.
The items you claim stay in your account permanently. Jam Tracks are included, too, so the reward covers more than a temporary change of outfit.
An ordinary chest with an unusual payout
Player snowslept shared a launch-day win from a normal Solos lobby, saying the reward appeared in their third match after opening roughly 150 chests. They described the winning chest as looking like any other chest, with no special appearance giving away its contents.
Epic Games hasn't disclosed the Pirate Shop's drop odds. That player's chest count is an account of one win, not a published probability.
Two activations, with limits on the haul
Winning the Pirate Shop grants two activations, one for 2026 and another for 2027. Finding it while playing in a squad also grants the reward to every squad member, rather than just the person opening the chest.
The countdown starts when you activate the reward, not when you find it. The 2026 activation can be used until December 15, 2026.
Eligible offers are those sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop, with several restrictions:
- Real-money offers and gifting are excluded.
- Battle Pass levels and rewards aren't included.
- Pirate Shop tokens cannot be transferred to another account.
The second activation window runs January 1 through December 15, 2027. For more help with the game beyond the Pirate Shop hunt, explore the Fortnite guide collection.
