Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale went live on October 6 and runs through October 7, bringing a tight 48-hour window of discounts across PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC. The deals are exclusive to Prime members, and some of the price cuts on PS5 games this cycle are legitimately the best we've seen all year.
Here's the lowdown: 2026 has been an expensive year to be a gamer. Between The Blood of Dawnwalker, Star Wars: Zero Company, Pragmata, and Resident Evil Requiem all landing within months of each other, the backlog has stacked up fast. This sale is a real chance to chip away at it.
The PS5 games worth your money right now
The headline deal for PS5 owners is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth dropping to just $16.99, down from its $49.99 list price. That's a 66% discount on one of the most content-dense RPGs of the last few years, with well over 100 hours of content in a single playthrough. If you've been sitting on the fence, $17 is the number that should push you off it.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is also down to $19.99 on PS5, a 50% cut from its $39.99 price. Picking up both for under $40 combined is a deal that won't come around often.
For newer releases, Resident Evil Requiem has dropped to $49.99 on PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2, its lowest price yet after previously holding firm closer to full retail. Star Wars: Zero Company is down to $47.97 (20% off its $59.99 MSRP), marking the first significant discount since launch. The Blood of Dawnwalker has also seen its first price cut, now at $59.49 after launching at $69.99.
Pragmata is available for $39.99 across PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2, down from $59.99. That's a third off one of 2026's more talked-about releases. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight rounds things out at $59 for PS5 and Xbox, saving $10 off retail.
PS5 console options if you still need the hardware
There's no blockbuster PS5 hardware deal in this sale, but Best Buy has a refurbished 825GB PS5 listed at $549.99, saving $50 off the $599.99 standard price. The PS Direct store is also offering refurbished units at $549 for the standard model and $499 for the Digital Edition, with the PS Direct option giving you the newer 1TB design for the same price as Best Buy's older model.
The key here is that Best Buy is currently running a $50 reward certificate for anyone who bundles a Grand Theft Auto 6 preorder with an eligible PS5 purchase, which effectively makes the refurb deal even more attractive if GTA 6 is already on your list.
Should you buy now or wait for Black Friday?
Honestly, it depends on how much any of these titles have been sitting in your mental wishlist. Most of these discounts will likely resurface during Black Friday in November, potentially at even lower prices. If patience is an option, waiting is probably the smarter financial move.
That said, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth deal at $16.99 is the kind of price point that tends to sell out before a sale ends. Same goes for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at $19.99 (71% off its $69.99 MSRP), which is an absurd discount on a game that holds up well in multiplayer.
What this means for gamers is simple: if you've been eyeing any of these titles since launch and haven't pulled the trigger, October 6-7 is a legitimate buying window. If you're holding out for a specific game that isn't in this sale, Black Friday is your next best target.
