Season 4 of Call of Duty has been building toward this moment for weeks. Anti-cheat upgrades were teased back in Season 2, the SG-12 had been dominating lobbies long enough to draw serious complaints, and Fortune's Keep had been absent from Warzone Ranked Play since its last rotation. Now the full patch notes are live, and Call of Duty: Mobile players and console fans alike are sorting through a substantial list of changes that went into effect on June 4.
The SG-12 Dragon's Breath nerf, finally
The headline weapon change is a targeted nerf to the SG-12 shotgun, specifically when running the 12 Gauge Dragon's Breath attachment. Treyarch reduced both the damage range and the pellet count per shot for this configuration. The developer's stated goal is to bring Dragon's Breath more in line with the SG-12's default ammo, rather than making it a straight upgrade that stretches range while also igniting targets.
Here's the thing: this is the only multiplayer weapon tuning at Season 4 launch. One gun, one attachment, one change. That restraint is actually notable given how loudly the SG-12 had been complained about in the weeks leading up to this update.
Microsoft Azure Attestation is now enforced on PC
This is the bigger story for competitive integrity. Ricochet Anti-Cheat has activated Microsoft Azure Attestation (MAA) checks for PC players, a system that was previewed earlier in the year. The way it works: PC players who fail attestation get dropped into a separate matchmaking pool. Fail the check and you are limited to Nuketown 24/7 in Black Ops 7 and the Battle Royale Casual playlist in Warzone. That is it.
To pass attestation, a system needs two things enabled: TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) and Secure Boot. Players on AMD hardware should note that versions of AMD's TPM software in the 3.x.0.x range are currently returning errors during the attestation process. The fix is a BIOS or firmware update, not a game setting.
If one player in your party fails attestation, the entire party gets flagged. You will receive a notification if a squad member's system is non-compliant, so check before queuing into Ranked.
What most players miss here is how targeted this restriction actually is. Players who pass attestation will never see non-compliant players in their lobbies, including console players who are automatically compliant. The pool of non-attested players is described as small, which is why playlist access for that group is so limited.
Warzone gets more buy stations and a new self-revive
Buy Station counts on both Avalon and Verdansk have been increased following player feedback about coverage gaps. Avalon goes from 49 to 64 stations, while Verdansk moves from 49 to 51. The placements themselves have also been refreshed across both maps.
Resurgence modes are getting a new rare item called the Advanced Self-Revive. Beyond the standard revive function, this variant activates Active Camo during the self-revive animation and holds it for 2 additional seconds after you are back up, provided you do not take an aggressive action. It shares an inventory slot with the standard Self-Revive, so you can only carry one variant at a time.
Fortune's Keep is also back in the Warzone Ranked Play rotation. The Resurgence Ranked Play map pool now includes Fortune's Keep, Rebirth Island, and Haven's Hollow, supporting up to 48 players across 16 squads.
Endgame weapon tuning goes deep
Endgame does not usually receive dedicated weapon balancing, but Season 4 makes an exception. The M34 Novaline marksman rifle gets a 50% damage increase to push it into a more viable precision role. Sniper headshot damage was bumped 33% across the Strider 300, Hawker HX, and VS Recon.
The AAROW 109 launcher, which had become the clear meta pick, takes a 32% reduction to direct impact damage and a 12.5% cut to inner explosion damage. The A.R.C. M1 gets a 36% direct impact damage increase and a 25% charge time reduction to give it a more distinct role as the AOE alternative.
Pro tip: if you have been sleeping on the Shadow SK in Endgame, this patch makes it significantly more viable. Upper torso damage increased by 85%, lower torso by 97%, and headshot damage up 13%.
Totenreich Zombies bug fixes
The Totenreich map gets a long list of fixes. The most impactful: a bug where Dravakar's weak points were not taking critical damage has been resolved, and the Jotunn Star Wonder Weapon animation issue when using Melee Macchiato with the Expresso Major Augment is now corrected. The Wonder Weapon control UI display bug after reloading a save is also fixed.
Those running the main questline will also want to know that the Pack-a-Punch Quest completion bug triggered by saving during the Glocke Drop step has been addressed.
What to watch next
The Ranked Play SR system has been completely overhauled in Season 4, removing hidden MMR in favor of full transparency on every point earned or lost. Crimson-rank players can now form up to four-player parties, a rollback from the two-player restriction introduced in Season 2. Iridescent and Top 250 players remain capped at two.
