Dacoco has expanded its Alien Worlds metaverse with Battlefleet Armageddon, a browser-based mobile auto battler that brings space strategy combat to the franchise. Developed by partner studio Mercury Forge, the game integrates Alien Worlds NFTs directly into its progression system and uses a web3 financial model to sustain future development.

NFT-driven fleet building
Battlefleet Armageddon centers on Alien Worlds' NFTs as the gateway to higher-tier battleships. The rarity of your NFTs determines which ship classes you can access, pushing players to strategically assemble fleets and customize upgrades before engaging in PvP battles or taking on powerful Syndicates.
Mercury Forge began development in early 2023 and secured funding through a community grant from Galactic Hubs. The studio designed Battlefleet Armageddon around multiplayer interaction from the start, letting player actions shape the game's evolving narrative.
Self-funding through in-game packs
Aaron Yuan, co-founder of Mercury Forge, explained the collaborative vision: "From the very inception of the project, we were thinking in terms of multiplayer and how the story would emerge naturally from engagement between players. They saw what we were working on, and we had a lot in common in terms of the vision we wanted to achieve."
Battlefleet Armageddon uses web3 mechanics to create a self-sustaining revenue model. Players purchase ship packs, boosts, and cosmetic upgrades using WAX, the in-game currency, which funds ongoing expansions without relying on external investment.

DAO voting shapes the metaverse
The Alien Worlds DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) gives players voting power over the game's direction. This system turns players into active stakeholders who can influence decisions affecting their chosen Syndicate or planet.
Dacoco CEO and co-founder Saro McKenna emphasized the shift from passive consumption to active participation:
"Players have access to NFTs with varying capabilities and can fight at any time. They also have a say in the future of their chosen Syndicate or planet, reinforcing Alien Worlds' position as a thriving ecosystem that changes the traditionally passive role of players into active Custodians, creators, and entrepreneurs with a vested interest in a thriving metaverse."

Battlefleet Armageddon runs on WAX and is free-to-play. You can download it now on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
