Tower Defense game EF Defense launches on Immutable zkEVM
Tower Defense games pull in over 170 million players worldwide. Weracle wants a piece of that audience with EF Defense, a web3 tower battler targeting the Asia Pacific market.
The game drops players on Akaros, a resource-rich continent under siege by an expanding force called the Darkness. Players recruit and upgrade Heroes from six tribes — Human, Elf, Orc, Undead, Angel, and Demon — to hold the line against spectres, goblins, and other hostiles.
EF Defense includes over 70 Heroes and more than 200 equipment pieces. Combat modes extend beyond standard tower defense: Frontier has players capturing enemy bases, Arena pits armies against each other, and Tower of Trials offers floor-by-floor boss encounters with legendary loot drops.
The game runs on Immutable zkEVM after initially building on Polygon. Myungyong Shin, CEO of Weracle, says the partnership gives the studio access to Immutable's web3 promotion infrastructure and user engagement tools.
Weracle's team previously shipped Endless Frontier and Metal Slug, which combined for 35 million downloads and $80 million in revenue. The studio raised 10 million SGD to fund EF Defense and future projects.
EF Defense launched in Q3 2023 on Immutable zkEVM.
