Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Switch 2 preorders just got a little more attractive. Amazon UK has dropped its physical preorder price to match Argos, and the free Zack Fair Magic: The Gathering card is still part of the deal at both retailers.
What changed at Amazon
Amazon originally had the Switch 2 version listed at around $64 (£49.99), sitting noticeably above Argos. That gap is now gone. Both retailers are aligned at approximately $56 (£43.99) for the physical copy, which ships as a Game-Key Card rather than a traditional cartridge.
The price cut is a 12% reduction from Amazon's original listing. For a game that's been out on PS5 since early 2024 and PC since 2025, that adjusted price puts the Switch 2 version in a more reasonable spot for players who've been waiting on the handheld experience.
The Zack Fair MTG card is the real talking point
Here's the thing: the preorder bonus at both Amazon and Argos is genuinely unusual. Every qualifying preorder includes a borderless Zack Fair Magic: The Gathering card with variant art drawn by Tetsuya Nomura himself. That's not a generic promo insert, that's a collectible with real appeal beyond the game.
The card is exclusive to physical preorders at these retailers, so digital buyers won't see it. Whether you play Magic: The Gathering or just appreciate Nomura's art style, it's a tangible bonus that adds something to the physical package.
Where Argos pulls ahead
The prices are identical now, but Argos still has one edge. Its listing includes three in-game preorder bonuses that Amazon doesn't appear to offer:
- Posh Chocobo Summon Materia
- Shinra Bangle Mk. II item
- Midgar Bangle Mk. II item
Amazon's promo material only confirms the Zack Fair card and a reversible alternate box art inlay. The key here is that if the in-game items matter to you, Argos is the stronger option at the same price point.
Save data bonuses for returning players
A demo for the Switch 2 version is already live on the Nintendo eShop, and save data from that demo carries over to the full game. Players with save data from FF7 Remake Intergrade's main story also unlock free Leviathan Summoning Materia automatically. Complete the INTERmission DLC and you'll also receive Ramuh Summoning Materia.
