GOAT Gaming has announced the launch of its fourth season with a new title, Underground Pepe. The game expands the Telegram-based gaming experience by combining idle resource mechanics with a narrative inspired by classic mafia themes and Telegram's unique cultural style. Underground Pepe is designed specifically for Telegram and aligns closely with its collectible ecosystem, offering an experience built around user engagement and asset utility.

Underground Pepe builds its gameplay around the Plush Pepes, a collection of 3,000 animated sticker collectibles on Telegram. These digital assets use the TIP-4 standard on the TON blockchain, functioning as Telegram's equivalent to NFTs. The collection originally sold for $30 per piece. The floor price has since climbed to $10,519, delivering substantial returns to early collectors and fueling interest in Telegram's expanding collectibles market.
GOAT Gaming weaves these assets directly into gameplay mechanics. Players hire characters, flip NFTs, and gather Telegram-native items as they advance through the game. The Plush Pepes function beyond visual collectibles. In Underground Pepe, they unlock advanced features, open progression paths, and act as in-game status markers.

Game mechanics and reward systems
Players accumulate Pepe Points through tapping, upgrading, and completing stages. These points convert into Mystery Boxes containing various rewards. The boxes include Telegram-themed digital gifts, gameplay perks, and real-world prizes.
Rewards range from Durov's Cap NFTs, currently valued at $2,000, to cryptocurrency payouts in USDT and GOAT Gaming's CROWNS token, plus physical items like iPads. The reward distribution runs through GOAT Gaming's AI agent, Amy, which handles player payouts and manages interactive elements. The AI system streamlines reward mechanics and simplifies player interaction with the game's economy.

A web3 approach to social gaming
Simon Davis, CEO of GOAT Gaming, positions Underground Pepe within a larger plan to build Telegram-based games that embed collectibles into core gameplay. The game prioritizes functional asset use over simple ownership, letting players deploy their collectibles to shape progress and outcomes.
Davis draws a parallel between Telegram's current gaming evolution and Facebook's role in 2008. While Facebook launched viral social games over a decade ago, Telegram now occupies a similar position in the web3 space, where digital ownership, asset trading, and community-driven mechanics define the experience. Underground Pepe reflects this shift through community-gated progression and systems that reward sustained participation and asset utility.
