French game developer Imagine Games has announced that its mobile title My Lovely Planet has been selected for inclusion in Google's WeArePlay campaign. CEO Clément Le Bras says this marks the first time Google has featured a blockchain-based game as part of the initiative, which highlights innovative mobile apps and games from around the world. Le Bras believes the recognition could help encourage a broader movement toward environmentally focused mobile gaming experiences.

My Lovely Planet is a casual match-3 puzzle game built around creating real-world environmental impact through digital play. Players fund the planting of one tree for every 100 levels they complete. The company has planted over 380,000 trees in Madagascar through its partnership with NGO Graine de Vie.
The game sits at the crossroads of entertainment and sustainability, giving players a casual puzzle experience tied to direct environmental action. Beyond tree planting, Imagine Games dedicates 15% of its global turnover to environmental causes.
The company has also set aside 15% of its in-game token supply for an Environment Treasury managed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Token holders can vote on how these environmental funds get allocated, reinforcing the game's sustainability focus.

Industry Support and Availability
My Lovely Planet has backing from major industry players. Ubisoft supports the project through its Entrepreneur Lab program, and Unity has included it in the Unity for Humanity initiative. The game is available now on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Google's WeArePlay campaign brings the title additional visibility within the global mobile gaming community.

Blockchain Integration and Token Utility
My Lovely Planet integrates blockchain technology through the My Lovely Coin (MLC), an ERC20 token that launched on the Polygon blockchain in June 2024. Players can stake MLC tokens to generate Diamonds, an offchain in-game currency used within the app.
Players who have staked at least $100 worth of MLC can convert Diamonds back into the MLC token, linking gameplay progression with token value. The project's tokenomics include mechanisms to regulate supply and support MLC's value. Forty-five percent of the game's in-app purchase revenue goes toward buying back MLC tokens from the market.
Of these repurchased tokens, 2% are burned to gradually reduce supply. In a larger supply reduction push, 120 million MLC tokens were burned at the start of 2025. The goal is to bring the total supply down from its current level of approximately 230 million to 100 million tokens over time.

A Model for Purpose-Driven Web3 Games
Google's promotion of My Lovely Planet represents a noteworthy development in the evolving landscape of mobile gaming. The game integrates web3 mechanics with environmental action, giving players a way to engage with blockchain technology while contributing to a sustainability mission.
Le Bras hopes this recognition will encourage the development of more games that combine entertainment with purpose. Further details about My Lovely Planet, including its gameplay model and environmental strategy, are available on the official website and in its published whitepaper.
