If you've been refreshing YouTube every morning hoping for a third Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, you can finally relax. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed during the company's most recent earnings call that Rockstar's full marketing push for GTA 6 won't kick off until summer. That means trailer 3 isn't coming this week, and it probably isn't coming next week either.

The key here is what "summer" actually means on the calendar. Officially, summer runs from June 21 through September 22, which gives Rockstar a roughly three-month window to drop the next major piece of marketing before the game's November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

What Zelnick actually said on the earnings call

Zelnick didn't announce a specific trailer date, but his comments at the Take-Two earnings call were clear enough to read between the lines. He told investors to expect the GTA 6 marketing machine to ramp up during the warmer months. He also dismissed circulating rumors about pre-orders going live soon and declined to address specifics around pricing or Grand Theft Auto 6 Online.

The pre-order question has been swirling for weeks after some retailers briefly listed GTA 6 pages that fans interpreted as imminent booking windows. Zelnick shut that down without much ceremony.

Two trailers down, one to go before launch

Rockstar has released exactly 2 trailers for GTA 6 so far. The first arrived in December 2023, breaking YouTube view records almost immediately. The second dropped in May 2025, introducing more of the Leonida setting and expanding on protagonist Lucia Caminos and her partner Jason Duval.

Trailer 3 is the last major marketing piece fans are expecting before the November 19 release date, and the pressure on it is considerable. Rockstar has gone quiet for stretches between each trailer, which has turned every earnings call and gaming event into a potential announcement moment.

Summer gaming events create natural windows

The timing lines up with the biggest marketing period in gaming. The PlayStation State of Play lands on June 2, Summer Game Fest kicks off June 5, and the Xbox Games Showcase follows on June 7. None of those are Rockstar events, but the concentrated attention on gaming news throughout June makes it a logical moment to drop something.

Rockstar has historically avoided the traditional gaming showcase circuit, preferring to release trailers on their own terms. That said, dropping trailer 3 during peak gaming news season would maximize eyeballs without needing a conference slot.

What this wait actually means for fans

Four months out from a November launch, the absence of a third trailer isn't a red flag. GTA 5's marketing in 2013 followed a similarly controlled drip, and Rockstar has always treated GTA reveals as events rather than routine content drops.

What most players miss is that the summer window still leaves plenty of time for a full marketing rollout. Six to eight weeks of sustained promotion before a release is standard for a title of this scale, and a late August or September trailer 3 would still land comfortably ahead of launch.

For now, the GTA 6 guide collection covers everything confirmed so far, from what we know about Leonida to the dual protagonist structure, and will be updated as new information comes in from Rockstar this summer.
