French indie developer Ars Goetia and publisher Dear Villagers have announced that HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon is now available on PC via Steam. The dark fantasy tactical RPG and dungeon crawler launched on August 4, 2026, priced at €19.99/$19.99/£17.99.
The game is also available with a 15% launch discount during its first week. A new launch trailer was released alongside the launch.
HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon is the follow-up to HellSlave and expands on the original game's dark fantasy setting with a larger world, additional character customization, new abilities, and an updated combat system.
A World Caught Between Demons and the Heavens
HellSlave II takes place in a world that has been devastated by thousands of years of conflict between six demon lords. Their endless war has left the world in ruins, while the heavens have responded by unleashing the Archon of Judgment.
The Archon is an unstoppable force intended to destroy the remaining world and put an end to the demonic conflict. Players are tasked with surviving this conflict while attempting to save what remains of humanity.
The game's setting has been designed around a hand-drawn dark fantasy art style, with players exploring a demon-infested world filled with ruined settlements, dungeons, sanctuaries, and other locations.
Six Classes and Expanded Character Customization
Players can choose from six different classes when creating their character. The available options are designed to support different approaches to combat, ranging from spectral assassins to plague-focused mages.
HellSlave II also introduces new Demonic Powers, which are obtained through corruption from the Demon Lords. These powers provide additional skills and give players more options when developing their characters.
Character progression is built around flexible talent trees, allowing players to combine skills and Demonic Powers to create different builds. The system is designed to encourage experimentation and adaptation as players progress through the game.
Turn-Based Combat With Time-Based Mechanics
Combat remains one of the central systems in HellSlave II, with the sequel retaining the series' turn-based approach while introducing improvements and new mechanics.
Although battles are turn-based, time continues to play an important role in combat. Each action takes time, creating an additional consideration when deciding whether to attack aggressively, defend, or take another action.
This system requires players to balance aggression with survival, particularly when facing groups of demons and stronger enemies.
Explore the Demon World
Outside of combat, HellSlave II features a top-down overworld that players can explore while completing quests and uncovering the game's lore.
The world contains dungeons, ruined villages, sanctuaries, and other locations where players can find loot, complete objectives, and discover secrets connected to the Demon World.
The sequel was developed using feedback from players of the original HellSlave. Solo developer Baptiste Miny said that the new game was designed to provide a larger and more developed experience while responding to feedback from the first title.
“I’m thrilled to offer a new HellSlave experience with a deeper, bigger and better designed game.”
According to Miny, player feedback played an important role in shaping HellSlave II and its approach to expanding the series.
