IMX staking is set to migrate from Immutable X to Immutable zkEVM on June 19 at 00:00 UTC. The change is part of Immutable’s plan to consolidate its ecosystem by merging Immutable X into Immutable zkEVM. This move aims to streamline operations and align the network under a unified chain.

Immutable X staking will come to a close when the 73rd epoch concludes on June 19 at 00:00 UTC. At that time, all staked tokens and rewards will be automatically unstaked and distributed back to the wallets of each staker. The IMX Ecosystem Foundation has distributed 4.8 million IMX tokens through this process, averaging 67,605 IMX per week.
Starting from June 19, IMX tokens can be staked on Immutable zkEVM. Staking rewards will be distributed biweekly and will be available only to those who trade at least one NFT during the 14-day cycle on a marketplace that utilizes the chain’s order book. Marketplaces supported for this include TokenTrove, Sphere, and OKX NFT Marketplace.
To become eligible for rewards, participants need to perform a trade on a participating platform during the cycle and have their tokens staked at the same time. There is no minimum amount to stake, but the more tokens staked and the longer they remain staked during the 14-day period, the greater the share of rewards a staker can expect to receive.

Bridging and Distribution of Rewards
For those currently staking on Immutable X, there are a few methods to move tokens to Immutable zkEVM and continue staking. Layerswap lets users transfer directly to zkEVM, while another option involves first bridging to Ethereum and then to the EVM-compatible network. A third path is simply waiting for the eventual merge of Immutable X into Immutable zkEVM, which is expected in late 2025. At that point, all funds will be bridged automatically, although users will need to manually activate their staking afterwards. The Layerswap route is recommended for those who do not wish to miss a large number of reward cycles by waiting.
Biweekly rewards come from a pool made up of 20% of all protocol fees collected by Immutable. The platform charges a 2% trading fee on transactions, and 20% of these fees are routed back into the rewards pool. The amount each staker earns depends on the total amount of IMX staked and the length of time the tokens were kept in the pool during a particular cycle. The following formula illustrates the process: rewards are distributed based on the amount of IMX staked and the average length of time it remained staked during the 14-day cycle.
