Blindspot Games has announced that Infinity: HexaDome Tactics, a 1v1 turn-based tactical arena game set in the Infinity universe, will launch on PC via Steam on September 10. The studio is also running its final pre-launch playtest ahead of release.
The final playtest runs from August 11 to August 18 and gives players access to eight playable characters, the first act of the PvE campaign, competitive PvP, and the new Haqqislam arena.
Set within a futuristic combat spectacle, Infinity: HexaDome Tactics focuses on small-team tactical battles played across a hexagonal arena. Matches are designed around more than simply eliminating the opposing team, with players also required to capture zones, complete sponsor objectives, interact with the crowd, and make effective use of their available action points.
Tactical Turn-Based Combat
Infinity: HexaDome Tactics uses a turn-based combat system where positioning and planning are central to each match. Players can use cover, traps, surveillance, attacks, and tactical cards to control the arena and create opportunities for their team.
The game's action-point system is designed to reward careful planning, with players encouraged to anticipate an opponent's movements and chain actions together at important moments.
Victory can depend on controlling objectives rather than simply dealing the most damage. This gives players several ways to approach each match and makes positioning around capture zones an important part of the strategy.
12 Playable Champions
The full release will feature 12 champions, each with different roles, abilities, attacks, and potential team synergies.
The launch roster includes:
- Maximus
- Gata
- 8Ball
- Hexxer
- Wild Bill
- Major Lunah
- Miyamoto Mushashi
- Hannibal
- Laxmee
- Valkyrie
- Senor Massacre
- Parvati
The roster includes melee fighters, ranged characters, supports, controllers, and specialists. Players can combine different champions to create lineups suited to their preferred approach to combat.
Three Arena Maps
Infinity: HexaDome Tactics will launch with three arena environments: the Training Arena, PanOceania, and Haqqislam.
The arenas are inspired by factions from the wider Infinity universe and incorporate environmental elements into the tactical gameplay. The Training Arena and Haqqislam arenas will support two different match configurations, including versions with three or seven capture zones.
The three-zone format is intended to create more dynamic matches, while the seven-zone configuration gives players additional objectives to manage and places greater emphasis on strategic positioning.
The Haqqislam arena is the newest addition to the game and is available during the final playtest. Its seven capture zones provide a larger number of objectives for players to contest during a match.
PvP and Story Campaign
The game will feature both competitive PvP and a single-player campaign.
PvP will include ranked and friendly matches, allowing players to test their team compositions and strategies against other players. Ranked matches will also give players the opportunity to progress through the game's competitive rankings.
The PvE campaign will introduce players to the Infinity universe, its champions, and the tournament environment surrounding the HexaDome.
The campaign is planned across four acts, with each act containing multiple chapters and narrative cutscenes. Players can also collect trophies through battles to unlock additional story details and other content.
The final pre-launch playtest provides access to the first act of the campaign alongside competitive PvP.
Based on the Infinity Universe
Infinity: HexaDome Tactics is the first PC game set in the Infinity universe. The game adapts the setting of the tabletop franchise into a digital tactical experience while retaining its focus on small teams and competitive combat.
The Infinity universe has more than 20 years of history, and HexaDome Tactics places its champions within a futuristic sporting spectacle where teams compete under constant pressure to score points and complete objectives.
The compact hexagonal arenas are intended to keep encounters focused while giving players several tactical options during each turn.
