Building an Authentic Bohemia in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - XBOX Wire

Back in May, Warhorse Studios confirmed two major projects in development: a "new Kingdom Come adventure" and a separate open-world Lord of the Rings RPG. The name of that first project may have just leaked itself through official legal channels.

A trademark for the phrase Kingdom Come Salvation was filed on July 23rd with the European Union's Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The filing lists Warhorse Studios as the applicant and covers "computer gaming software" and "entertainment services for matching users with computer games" under its goods and services section. That's the kind of language that shows up when a studio is protecting a game title, not a piece of merchandise.

What the filing actually tells us

The trademark graphic uses the same font Warhorse typically applies to Kingdom Come branding, which is a detail worth paying attention to. The studio behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is headquartered in Prague, and the attorney who filed the trademark, Dana Lukajová, is a specialist patent attorney based in Prague with a documented history of filing trademarks on behalf of clients in the region. That geographic and professional overlap makes the connection hard to dismiss as coincidence.

The EUIPO profile listed for Warhorse only shows this single application, so there is no older Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 trademark to compare it against. Still, the combination of the correct font, the Prague connection, and the studio confirmation from May that a new Kingdom Come title is in active development adds up to something more than a random filing.

important
Warhorse has not officially confirmed the title. The trademark is a strong signal, but the studio has not yet responded publicly to questions about it.

Why dropping "Deliverance" matters

Here's the thing: the shift from "Deliverance" to "Salvation" in the subtitle is not just a branding tweak. Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II both followed Henry of Skalitz, a blacksmith's son navigating the political chaos of early 15th-century Bohemia. The second game picked up Henry's story in 1403.

Dropping the "Deliverance" name suggests the next entry may step away from Henry entirely or at least move beyond his personal arc. The timing is also worth noting historically. The Hussite Wars began in 1419, just 16 years after KCD2's setting. That period saw Central Europe torn apart by religious and political conflict following the execution of Czech reformer Jan Hus by the Catholic church in 1415. His followers, the Hussites, fought a series of wars against Catholic crusaders across Bohemia. The word "salvation" carries direct theological weight in that context, pointing toward a story rooted in that era of faith, war, and ideological fracture.

What most players miss is how naturally that setting would follow from what Warhorse has already built. The studio has spent years constructing a historically grounded version of medieval Bohemia. The Hussite period is the next logical chapter, and it is one of the most dramatic in Czech history.

What this means for players already deep in KCD2

For anyone still working through Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, this news is more context than urgency. The game received a substantial stealth rework update recently, and the Legacy of the Forge DLC added a house-building system with over 136 million possible configurations. There is plenty left to explore before a new entry arrives.

If you are just getting started or want to make the most of your time before any sequel news develops further, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance II strategy guides cover everything from combat systems to quest decisions. For players figuring out how to build Henry in the opening hours, the early game playstyle guide is a solid starting point before any sequel news changes the conversation entirely.
