The company, which has built a presence around live sports gameplay with titles such as Striker League and Gold Striker, aims to streamline its blockchain operations through this decision.

The company plans to launch a new token on Sui, with in-game points serving as the qualification mechanism for a future token airdrop. The shift is designed to create a more direct connection between gameplay and blockchain functionality.
From Uncaged Studios to Lineup Games
The studio originally launched as Uncaged Studios, raising $24 million in July 2022. Its flagship sports football game debuted as MonkeyLeague, featuring genesis NFTs and the MBS token on Solana. After rebranding to UNKJD Soccer, the game eventually became Striker League. The company has also released Gold Striker, a mini-game available on LINE and Telegram.

Lineup Games has worked with multiple blockchains in the past, including Kaia, TON, Base, and Solana. Designating Sui as the default network is meant to reduce fragmentation. The goal with Sui is to minimize those disruptions and keep players focused on the game itself.
Friedman highlights Sui's ability to integrate blockchain features without forcing players to leave the game or manage external processes. The network's support for composable and nestable NFTs also opens up new design possibilities for in-game content. Sui handles these features in a way that keeps the experience cohesive rather than bolted on.
