Alpha Release 5
The Task System has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. Task System 2.0 shifts to XP-based progression, letting players level up through task completion and Blueprint crafting. Leveling unlocks new gameplay features, including exclusive missions and rewards that push progression and deepen the story.
Daily tasks now reward Craftcoin, the currency needed for events like House Hunters, one of the major additions in this release. The updated system also brings two new NPCs who will provide quests and push the narrative forward. These characters, alongside the existing cast, form the backbone of Moonfrost's cozy pixelated world.

New XP System to Track Progress
An XP system now tracks player progress and establishes rankings among top FROST-Hunters. Earned XP highlights achievements and gives players concrete goals to chase as they engage with Moonfrost's gameplay systems.
Build Mode has received multiple upgrades to improve functionality and ease of use. Item placement is more precise, and wall occlusion now makes it easier to see your creations while building. Roof design isn't ready yet and won't appear in this update, but the changes already in place improve the building experience significantly, especially for the new House Hunters mode.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
Alpha Release 5 includes multiple quality-of-life improvements. Players can now change their usernames through the account portal. The user interface has been revamped for smoother navigation, anti-bot measures have been strengthened, password reset protocols have been improved, and server support has been upgraded to reduce connection issues. These changes reflect Oxalis Games' focus on refining the player experience.
House Hunters is a new event-based game mode where players use Blueprints earned through regular gameplay to build and decorate structures on a separate map. Resources aren't required for building in this mode, but you still need to unlock Blueprints first.
The first House Hunters event launches in January 2025, with prizes including SHARDs, unique Blueprints, and rare items. Winners are determined through community voting, adding both collaborative and competitive elements. SHARDs may play a role in future gameplay or tie into the upcoming $FROST token, making participation in this mode especially worthwhile.

Approval on Epic Games Store
Alpha Release 5 is expected to launch within the next few days, pending approval on the Epic Games Store. The standalone launcher is being discontinued due to high maintenance costs during the alpha phase. Players who previously used the standalone launcher can claim a code for the Epic Games Store to access the new version.
Newcomers interested in joining the closed alpha can sign up on the official website by December 9th. Codes are distributed first-come, first-served. Players must redeem their codes within 72 hours or the codes will be reallocated to others.

Earning Limited-Edition Collectibles
Player progress will reset at the end of Alpha Release 5, except for SHARDs. Participants in this release can earn a limited-edition collectible that stays locked to their account and carries over to future versions of the game.
Completing the entire task event during this release is the only way to obtain this item, which also grants early access to a new gameplay feature planned for the sixth closed alpha. This makes Alpha Release 5 a particularly valuable opportunity for players looking to get ahead in Moonfrost's evolving world.
Alpha Release 5 represents a significant step forward in Moonfrost's development. The updates deliver a more rewarding and dynamic experience that blends creativity, progression, and competition in the game's cozy and captivating environment.
