Oxalis Games, the developer behind the upcoming web3 life simulation and farming RPG Moonfrost, has officially announced the launch date of its OG Mystery Box Sale. The sale is scheduled to begin on June 12 at 1 PM UTC and will take place on the Open Loot platform. A total of 1,833 Mystery Boxes will be made available to the public in two separate phases, with each box priced at $149.99. The initiative is aimed at enabling early access to Moonfrost's play-to-earn features through the inclusion of exclusive, game-relevant digital items.

Each OG Mystery Box includes four items: one guaranteed OG Gnome and three additional collectible items selected at random. Possible contents include FROST prints, FROST Workbenches, and Luck Charms, each serving a distinct role in the game's economy and play-to-earn structure. The OG Gnome carries Epic rarity and appears in every box, though its specific in-game function remains undisclosed.
The three remaining items are randomly assigned, so buyers might receive a variety of different collectibles or multiple copies of the same item. These items differ in rarity and functionality, with some proving more essential than others for earning tokens through gameplay. This randomized structure creates variability and potential strategic advantages as players enter the game.

Function and Utility of Mystery Box Items
Every collectible item in the OG Mystery Box serves a specific purpose in Moonfrost's play-to-earn mechanics. FROST prints are tradable blueprints that let players craft Frost Tools, enhanced versions of standard tools required for token-generating activities like chopping trees, mining ores, or fishing. While Frost Tools themselves can't be traded, they enable token earning based on their "Luck" attribute, which varies by rarity and directly affects durability and performance. Tools break after a set number of uses and can't be repaired, making continuous crafting necessary for ongoing participation in the token economy.
Crafting Frost Tools demands both a FROST print and access to a FROST Workbench. These crafting tables come in nine rarity levels and cap the maximum rarity of Frost Tools a player can produce. Players can't craft tools from blueprints that exceed their Workbench's rarity level. In future updates, Workbenches will also enable upgrading FROST prints, provided the Workbench matches or exceeds the item's rarity.
Luck Charms are another component affecting a player's earning potential. These items, also available in nine rarity levels, boost a player's Luck stat. Charms can be fused into Frost Tools, with the number allowed depending on the tool's rarity. Higher-tier tools accommodate more charms, increasing the potential for earning tokens through in-game activity.

Participation, Early Access and Availability
The OG Mystery Box Sale runs in two phases. The Whitelist Phase, from 1:00 to 1:10 PM UTC, is limited to users who previously secured a spot on the official whitelist. During this phase, each whitelisted participant can purchase up to two boxes.
The Public Phase follows from 1:10 to 2:00 PM UTC, operating on a first come, first serve basis. Participants in this open phase can purchase up to five boxes total, including any bought during the Whitelist Phase. At least 200 boxes have been allocated for the Public Phase.
Participating in Moonfrost's early access version requires ownership of a Gnome Key, originally bundled with the Early Access Package. That initial bundle sold out in under 30 seconds during the whitelist release. Players who missed the Early Access Bundle can still purchase a Gnome Key separately via the Open Loot marketplace, with the current market price hovering around $10.
The early access version of Moonfrost is expected to launch later in June for Windows PCs and Mac through the Epic Games Store. A mobile version is planned for future release. Buyers of the OG Mystery Box who also possess a Gnome Key will be among the first to experience the game's play-to-earn system in action.

Final Thoughts
Beyond the items in the OG Mystery Box, Oxalis Games has disclosed the overall supply of collectible assets. The early access launch will include 1,000 Frost Workbenches, 1,000 each of Axe, Pickaxe, and Fishing Rod FROST prints, and a total of 2,999 Moon Charms, evenly distributed across tool types. These numbers reflect both the Early Access Bundle and OG Mystery Box distributions and will shape the availability and potential scarcity of these assets in the in-game economy.
The Moonfrost OG Mystery Box Sale marks the next step in Oxalis Games' rollout of its web3-based farming RPG. By offering a limited supply of exclusive in-game items through a structured sale, the developer aims to establish the foundation for its play-to-earn ecosystem while giving early supporters meaningful advantages. Interested players can participate in the sale starting June 12 on the Open Loot platform, with early access to the game expected to begin shortly afterward.
