Palworld: Best Kindling Pals

Your furnaces sitting cold is one of the most frustrating things that can happen mid-session in Palworld. You've got ore queued up, ingots to smelt, and progress to make, but without a solid Kindling Pal assigned to the job, everything grinds to a halt. The good news is that Pocketpair's 1.0 release has a clear answer for each stage of the game, and not every solution requires grinding to the endgame.

Why not every Fire Pal is equal at the furnace

Every Fire-type Pal technically has Kindling, but the skill level and secondary work suitabilities are what separate a genuinely useful base worker from a Pal that just fills a slot. A Pal with Kindling 2 and nothing else is a wasted roster spot. The ones worth keeping are the Pals that pull double or triple duty, handling Kindling alongside Mining, Handiwork, or Transporting.

Here's the lowdown on which Pals actually move the needle at each point in the game.

Incineram: the early-game answer

Incineram is the standout choice for players who haven't yet pushed into the mid-game. The key here is versatility. Incineram brings Kindling alongside the ability to use workbenches, transport goods, and mine ore nodes, which is a combination that most early Fire Pals simply can't match. Wixen is a reasonable alternative if you need numbers fast, offering Kindling 3, Handiwork 3, and Transporting 2, though it can't mine.

Normally Incinerams appear later in the world, but there's a reliable early spawn tied to a pair of Syndicate Thugs near the Windswept Island Watchtower. One of them summons an Incineram, so you can grab one well before it would naturally show up in your exploration.

tip
If you're still building out your roster and base assignments, check the Palworld best base Pals guide for a full breakdown of top workers across every job type, not just Kindling.

Blazamut: mid-game smelting and mining combined

Once you're pushing into the volcanic regions, Blazamut becomes the obvious upgrade. It trades the Handiwork and Transporting skills that Incineram carries for double the Kindling and Mining levels, which makes it a natural fit for dedicated mining and smelting bases. If you're running a base purely focused on ore processing, Blazamut earns its slot fast.

Moldron and Blazehowl sit one Kindling level below Blazamut and are easier to catch, making them solid fillers while you track down Blazamuts on the small volcanic island northeast of the desert biome. Blazamuts can also hatch from Huge Scorching Eggs, though catching them in the wild is generally more efficient.

Renjishi: the endgame ceiling

This is where things get serious. Renjishi is the best Kindling Pal in Palworld at full potential, capable of reaching Kindling 10 through Condensation. That's the highest Kindling level any Pal can achieve in the game. What makes Renjishi stand above the other Pal that can also hit Kindling 10, Jormuntide Ignis, is that Renjishi brings a full set of additional work suitabilities alongside it. Jormuntide Ignis is essentially a Kindling specialist and not much else when it comes to base tasks.

The catch is that Renjishi only becomes available after reaching the World Tree, so it's a late-game investment. Jormuntide Ignis is accessible earlier via Feybreak Island or by breeding a Jormuntide with a Blazehowl, which makes it a reasonable bridge until Renjishi is within reach.

What most players miss is that Condensation is the multiplier here. A base-level Renjishi isn't dramatically better than other high-tier Kindling Pals, but a maxed-out one through Condensation operates in a different category entirely.

For players thinking ahead about which Pals to breed and combine for base efficiency, the Palworld 1.0 best breeding combos guide covers the full picture from early-game setups through World Tree unlocks.
