Parallel Studios has officially revealed the name of its upcoming third-person extraction shooter, formerly known as Project Tau Ceti. Now titled Parallel Sanctuary, the game was announced alongside a new cinematic trailer, offering a glimpse into its setting and themes. Powered by Echelon Prime and built on B3, the open gaming layer 3 on the Base network, Parallel Sanctuary is the latest addition to the expanding sci-fi universe established by the studio.
About Parallel Sanctuary
Parallel Sanctuary is a third-person extraction shooter that brings blockchain technology into an immersive sci-fi gaming experience. The game shares its universe with Parallel TCG, a free-to-play digital card game, and Parallel Colony, an AI agent game currently in development. What started as a side project under the working title Project Tau Ceti has grown into a major priority for the studio after community feedback and growing interest in expanding the Parallel intellectual property.
The cinematic trailer officially announces the game's title but doesn't show gameplay footage. Instead, it establishes the game's atmosphere by following an injured soldier moving through a battlefield and scavenging for supplies. The character finds a crate, collects materials, and then looks up at the sky, where a distant object appears — possibly representing a home or extraction point.
Specific gameplay details haven't been disclosed yet, but the trailer indicates that Parallel Sanctuary will follow core mechanics of the extraction shooter genre. Players will explore different planets, hunt for valuable resources, and attempt to extract safely with their loot. Earlier gameplay footage from September 2024 showed players interacting with similar crates, reinforcing the focus on resource collection and survival. That footage also suggested potential PvE elements alongside PvP combat, though more details are expected in future updates.
