Roblox Announces New Incubator and Jumpstart Programs

Roblox has launched two new initiatives aimed at supporting developers in creating more advanced games on its platform. The company introduced the Roblox Incubator and Roblox Jumpstart programs, both designed to encourage the development of games that go beyond the platform's traditional style and appeal to an older audience.

The Roblox Incubator is a six-month, milestone-driven program intended for experienced developer teams. Participants receive guidance from Roblox specialists, including mentorship and support for building audiences. The program focuses on helping developers refine their game concepts into scalable commercial releases, providing structured development support and resources throughout the process.

Roblox Jumpstart, in contrast, is designed as a continuous program that helps newer developers familiarize themselves with the platform while offering experienced creators the opportunity to test innovative ideas. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and project pitches are expected to begin during this year's Game Developers Conference.

Targeting older audiences and expanding opportunities

Roblox reports that 45% of its daily active users have completed the platform's age verification process as of January 31, 2026, with 27% of those users over the age of 18. The company sees the 18 to 34 demographic as a key growth opportunity, particularly in the United States, where this age segment is growing at more than twice the rate of users under 18. Monetization in the older segment is also roughly 40% higher, making it a valuable target for developers.

Vlad Loktev, Roblox's chief creator ecosystem officer, emphasized the company's goal of creating a platform for all ages. He noted that the new programs are intended to provide the mentorship, resources, and discovery support developers need to turn ambitious ideas into commercial successes. Roblox aims to encourage developers to explore new concepts and produce games that appeal to a wider and more diverse audience.

Supporting creativity and innovation

With the Incubator and Jumpstart programs, Roblox is placing a clear focus on supporting creativity and innovation among its developer community. By offering structured guidance and ongoing learning opportunities, the platform seeks to expand the types of experiences available to players, particularly those seeking more sophisticated games. The initiatives reflect Roblox's commitment to evolving beyond its traditional style and creating a more inclusive gaming environment.
