The Beacon has launched its newest public playtest on the Ronin network, available from September 4 at 2 PM UTC until September 7 at 2 PM UTC. The free-to-play roguelite RPG gives players access to fresh gameplay systems, procedurally generated dungeons, an overhauled combat loop, and onchain rewards. The playtest window also includes chances to earn NFT rewards connected to the event.
Every participant who links their account during the playtest qualifies for post-event rewards. These rewards include the R-Vision headset NFT, which becomes available for minting after the event concludes, and the Adventurer's Backpack item. Selected content creators will also receive a Seeker's Mantle NFT. Ronin confirmed that another playtest-tied event will distribute a 10,000 RON reward pool, with specifics coming later.

Fantasy Action Roguelite RPG
The Beacon is a free-to-play fantasy action roguelite RPG developed and published by Skillcap Inc. The game mixes fast combat with MMO-inspired systems like cooperative play, social hubs, and persistent progression. Players move through procedurally generated dungeons, facing different enemies, routes, and loot drops each run.
The game takes place in Altaris, where the Beacon's light has historically shielded humanity from Umbra's forces. Settlements like Dawnport serve as social hubs where players gather, pick up quests, and show off their gear and achievements. Players can also customize their characters and personal settlements.
The Beacon runs on Windows and Mac and uses web3 technology, letting players earn NFT-based rewards through gameplay and participation in events like the Ronin playtest.
