New Slimebert Anomaly EXPLAINED + FULL CUTSCENE! Hazmat Team Update Animal Hospital Anomaly Roblox!

The Hazmat Team shift is one of the messiest events in Roblox Animal Hospital. The entire building turns green, a goo monster named Slimebert starts roaming the halls, and you still have to treat patients like nothing is wrong. Most players panic and waste their Fire Extinguisher on chasing Slimebert around. This guide covers exactly when the shift hits, how to handle Slimebert without losing your momentum, and which class gives you the biggest advantage.

When does the Hazmat Team shift trigger?

The Hazmat Team event lands somewhere between Shift 12 and Shift 17. Most runs see it around Shift 15, but the exact number varies and there is no way to force it to a specific shift. Every run goes through it, so you cannot skip it by playing differently in the early shifts.

The clearest warning sign is a lore scene where Dr. Harlow walks outside to meet the Animal Corporation Hazmat team. He tells them to use the back door next time, whispers something, and heads back inside. Shortly after that cutscene, green gas fills the hospital and the shift officially begins.

tip
The Hazmat shift lasts for exactly one shift. Once all patients are checked in and treated, it ends. Speed is your best tool here.

What actually happens during the Hazmat Team shift?

Three Hazmat workers enter the building and start vacuuming up green slime with specialized equipment. The hospital gets a full visual overhaul with slime coating and green gas throughout every room. Then Slimebert checks in as a patient, which is where things get complicated.

Slimebert is a large goo monster that drips slime, wanders unpredictably, and eats any player he touches on contact. Being eaten does not end your run. He spits you back out after a moment. The real damage is the time you lose while stuck inside him and the Sanity drain that comes with it. In later shifts where other hazards are already stacking up, that Sanity loss adds up fast.

Your objective does not change. Check in and treat patients before the timer runs out. Slimebert is a disruption, not a boss fight.

How do you deal with Slimebert in Animal Hospital?

The Fire Extinguisher is the only tool that works against Slimebert. Hitting him with it knocks him back temporarily and stops him from eating you in that moment. He gets back up after being pushed away and continues roaming, so there is no permanent solution during the shift.

The key mindset shift most players need: do not chase Slimebert. Hunting him down wastes the time you need to complete patient check-ins. Use the Fire Extinguisher reactively when he is directly blocking your path, then immediately refocus on patients. The shift ends when all patients are treated, so the faster you clear check-ins, the less time Slimebert has to cause problems.

warning
Actively hunting Slimebert instead of treating patients is the most common reason players fail this shift. One reactive hit when he blocks you is all you need.

What is the best class for the Hazmat Team shift?

The Firefighter class was added to Animal Hospital at the same time as this event, and the timing is not a coincidence. It is the strongest pick for this shift by a significant margin.

The auto-recharging extinguisher means you never have to detour to a refill station mid-shift, which keeps your patient treatment loop uninterrupted. The fire sanity immunity becomes relevant in higher shift runs where fire hazards are already spawning alongside the Hazmat event.

That said, the Firefighter class is not required. Any class can survive the Hazmat shift as long as you use a Fire Extinguisher on Slimebert when he blocks your path. The Firefighter just removes the friction of managing your extinguisher supply.

Best tips to clear the Hazmat shift fast

  • Pick the Firefighter class before the run starts. The auto-recharging extinguisher and fire immunity remove two separate problems at once.
  • Speed through Shifts 1 to 11. Prioritize check-ins over perfect patient scores in the early shifts. The faster you reach the Hazmat event, the more energy you have for it.
  • React, do not hunt. Use the Fire Extinguisher only when Slimebert is directly in your way. One hit pushes him back far enough to get past him.
  • Keep your Sanity bar in check. Getting eaten by Slimebert drains Sanity. If other hazards are also active, that drain compounds quickly. Stay aware of your bar.
  • Treat patients as fast as possible. The shift timer ends when all patients are treated. Every second spent on Slimebert instead of patients extends how long you are exposed to him.
important
Slimebert cannot be permanently eliminated during the shift. No amount of Fire Extinguisher hits will remove him from the run. Focus on patients and use the extinguisher as a blocking tool, not a weapon.
