This edition delivers over 30 hours of story-driven content across more than 10 different heroes. The Celestial Church campaign is set 10 years after the base game and follows an Inquisitor of a faction of religious fanatics. The Crownless King campaign runs parallel to that timeline, following a legendary mercenary with a morally ambiguous arc and open maps with multiple paths and endings.
The Expansions Edition adds the Lighteaters DLC to the Campaigns bundle. The Complete Edition stacks on the official soundtrack in both MP3 and WAV formats, an artbook, and digital goodies. This depends entirely on why you're picking up Songs of Silence.
You're here for the story
The Campaigns Edition is the obvious pick. Chimera designed it specifically for players who want narrative, and the GOG description is unusually honest about this: it says the edition is "made for players who come to Songs of Silence for its narrative and want to see where it goes." Each campaign is self-contained, so you don't need to play them in order, but together they build out a world that rewards spending time in it. Over 30 hours of story content across three distinct arcs is a real number, not padding.
You want everything gameplay-related
Go with the Expansions Edition. The Lighteaters DLC adds content beyond the story campaigns, and if you're planning to sink serious hours into skirmish and multiplayer, having all the factions and units available from the start makes sense. The soundtrack and artbook in the Complete Edition are nice extras but don't affect gameplay.
You want to support the developers directly
The Supporter Edition exists for this reason. The three supporter upgrades (Luminant, Starborn, Firstborn) are cosmetic or community-tier extras. If you love what Chimera is doing with Songs of Silence and want to put money behind it, this is the edition for that.
