Gold Ingots are one of those resources in Witchspire that players hit a wall without warning. You need them for crafting recipes, weapon upgrades, and most critically, pushing your Hearth to Level 6, which gates a significant chunk of your Luminary progression. The catch is that Gold Ore is genuinely harder to locate than the earlier metals, and you cannot even mine it until you have the right tool unlocked. What do you need before farming Gold Ore?
Gold Ore is not mineable with the standard Witch's Pickaxe. You need the Refined Witch's Pickaxe, and that requires two specific milestones before the recipe even appears in your Luminary.
- Mining Level 10 must be reached.
- Hearth Level 4 must be active at your base.

Head to your Workbench once the recipe is unlocked. The Refined Witch's Pickaxe costs the following materials:
Froblin Goo and Carapace are both enemy drops, so budget some time clearing Froblin Camps and coastal Specla before attempting the craft. Where to find Gold Ore in Witchspire
Gold Ore has a few confirmed locations spread across different progression stages. The Oasis map caves are the earliest accessible spots, while Mira Isles and Eastell open up later as the story advances.

Two cave locations in the Oasis map are the best starting point for Gold Ore:
- Question mark cave northwest of the shop in the northern Oasis map. Use the shop as your anchor, head northwest, and look for the cave entrance marked on the map.
- Cave under the large purple tree in the southeast of the Oasis map. The tree is the landmark, but the ore is inside the cave beneath it, not on the surface.
Both spots are easy to miss if you are only scanning open ground. Gold Ore in the Oasis area is specifically in cave interiors, so surface sweeps will come up empty.

Mira Isles beach (Level 15 Main Quest)
The beach in Mira Isles becomes a reliable Gold Ore farming location once you reach the Level 15 Main Quest called Corruption. This is where the Dark Comet spawns, and the beach in that area has an abundance of Gold Ore deposits clustered together. It is the most productive single-run location once the quest unlocks the area, making it the go-to spot for bulk farming.
R'hyrrgar's Peak in Eastell (late-game backup)
R'hyrrgar's Peak sits at the easternmost point of Mira Isles in the Eastell region. From R'hyrrgar himself, keep climbing the mountain path upward and Gold Ore deposits appear along the ascent. This spot is less consistent than the Mira Isles beach but works as a supplementary farming route once Eastell is accessible.

How to smelt Gold Ingots at the Furnace
With Gold Ore in your inventory, return to the Furnace at your base. The recipe is straightforward:
- 2x Gold Ore + 1x Charcoal = 1x Gold Ingot
Charcoal is made by burning Wood at the Furnace, so if you are running low, process some Wood first before starting the Gold Ingot run. The same 2 ore to 1 ingot ratio applies to Copper and Iron as well, so the process will feel familiar.

Why does Gold Ore feel so hard to find?
Two things trip players up consistently. First, the best early deposits are inside caves rather than sitting in the open, so broad surface exploration misses them entirely. Second, even if you stumble across a Gold Ore node before you are ready, the Refined Witch's Pickaxe is a hard requirement. Without Mining Level 10 and Hearth Level 4, you physically cannot harvest it.
