This WoW Forever Ashenvale guide in one breath: arrive at level 19–20, leave at 30. Alliance works out of Astranaar and Maestra's Post, Horde splits between Splintertree Post and Zoram'gar Outpost. Grab the three flight paths first, run the long chains, Raene's Cleansing for Alliance and The Ashenvale Hunt for Horde, and skip anything that asks you to sail to Booty Bay for a saw blade.
Blizzard has confirmed one change for World of Warcraft Forever Ashenvale so far: moonlight through the trees. No level scaling, no flying mounts, same hubs. Every quest below is taken from Classic data and cross-checked in two databases, because the old routes are still the fastest routes, and a forest this pretty still kills tourists.
Level Range: When to Come, When to Leave
Ashenvale runs from 19 to 32 for both factions. The first half of the zone is safe at 20; the eastern half , Forest Song, Xavian, Night Run, Satyrnaar , wants 27 or higher. This is the part of any WoW Forever leveling guide where people ignore the numbers and die to a level 32 satyr with a speech impediment.
| Faction | Arrive | Leave | Go next |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alliance | 19–20, from Darkshore | 27, then back at 29–30 for the finale | Stonetalon Mountains, Duskwood, Thousand Needles |
| Horde | 20–22, from The Barrens | 28–30 | Stonetalon Mountains, Thousand Needles, Desolace |
The standard split still works in Forever: do the western and central quests at 20–25, leave for a bridge zone, return at 28 for the eastern chains when the mobs stop outleveling you. Straight-lining the whole zone at 22 is possible. So is walking into a moonwell.
How to Get In: Flight Paths and Coordinates
There are three WoW Forever flight paths in the zone. Take the one for your faction the moment you arrive, because running across Ashenvale twice is not content , it is punishment.
| Hub | Flight Master | Coordinates | Faction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astranaar | Daelyshia | 34.4, 48.0 | Alliance |
| Splintertree Post | Vhulgra | 73.2, 61.6 | Horde |
| Zoram'gar Outpost | Andruk | 12.2, 33.8 | Horde |
- Alliance walks in from Darkshore along the southern road and hits Maestra's Post (26.2, 38.7) before Astranaar.
- Alliance players coming from the Eastern Kingdoms take the boat from Menethil in Wetlands to Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh, then follow Journey to Astranaar north through Horde road traffic, which is exactly as friendly as it sounds.
- Horde runs north out of The Barrens past Mor'shan Rampart and turns east to Splintertree Post.
- Horde reaches Zoram'gar by the long road west, so plan it once and take the flight path while you are there.
Quest Hubs and Breadcrumbs: What Unlocks What
Most WoW Forever Ashenvale quests hang off five hubs. Breadcrumbs are cheap XP and open hubs early, so take every one you see on the way in.
| Breadcrumb | Where You Get It | What It Opens |
|---|---|---|
| Trek to Ashenvale | Sentinel Selarin, Darkshore | Raene Wolfrunner and the Raene's Cleansing chain in Astranaar |
| Journey to Astranaar | Fiora Longears, Theramore | Shindrell Swiftfire in Astranaar |
| The Tower of Althalaxx | Balthule Shadowstrike, Darkshore | Delgren the Purifier at Maestra's Post |
| The Sleeper Has Awakened | Kerlonian Evershade, Darkshore | Escort that ends at Maestra's Post |
| Kayneth Stillwind | Shindrell Swiftfire, Astranaar | Forest Song and the Forsaken chain |
| The Ashenvale Hunt | Jorn Skyseer, Crossroads (44.9, 59.1) | Senani Thunderheart in Splintertree |
| The Ashenvale Hunt | Warcaller Gorlach, Orgrimmar | Same hunt, different messenger |
| The Ashenvale Hunt | Bluff Runner Windstrider, Thunder Bluff | Same hunt, third messenger |
| The Warsong Reports | Kadrak, Mor'shan Rampart (48.1, 5.4) | Three Warsong update quests across the zone |
Alliance Quest Order
The WoW Forever Alliance leveling route below keeps travel tight: west coast first, Astranaar as the base, one trip out to Stonetalon, back for the east.

Horde Quest Order
WoW Forever Horde leveling in Ashenvale is two camps and a lot of walking between them. Do Splintertree first, then Zoram'gar in one sweep with the flight path.
- Take The Warsong Reports from Kadrak at Mor'shan Rampart (48.1, 5.4) on the way north.
- Take The Ashenvale Hunt from Senani Thunderheart at 73.8, 61.5 and read the three bounties it opens.

- Escort Torek from 68.3, 75.3 for Torek's Assault, then kill stealthed outrunners around 71.8, 74.6.
- Talk to the Warsong Scout at 71.1, 68.4 for Warsong Scout Update and the Warsong Outrider at 81.8, 53.5 for Warsong Outrider Update.
- Take The Lost Pages from Gurda Ragescar at 70.0, 71.2 and assemble the twelve missing manual pages as you pass the lumber camps.
- Kill Befouled Water Elementals at Mystral Lake for Stonetalon Standstill and Tideress at 45.9, 70.6 for the globe that starts The Befouled Element.
- Kill Ursangous around 39.8, 65.2 when he wanders past; his drop Ursangous's Paw starts the bounty Ursangous's Paw.
- Free Ruul Snowhoof at 41.5, 34.5 in Thistlefur Village for Freedom to Ruul.
- Run to Zoram'gar, take the flight path, finish Warsong Runner Update with the Warsong Runner and hand Je'neu of the Earthen Ring to Je'neu Sancrea at 11.6, 34.3.
- Take Naga at the Zoram Strand, Troll Charm and Between a Rock and a Thistlefur, and accept Vorsha the Lasher from Muglash only if a partner is online.
- Finish King of the Foulweald with Karang Amakkar at 11.9, 34.5 once the Thistlefur are thinned.
- Return east at 27–28 for Xavian horns, Shadumbra near 57.5, 56.1 and Sharptalon near 75.0, 70.1, then hand in The Hunt Completed.
- Return the three reports to Kadrak on your way out to finish The Warsong Reports.

What to Skip
- Skip The Howling Vale unless you already planned to visit Darnassus, Ratchet, Booty Bay and Darkshire in one week.
- Skip Warsong Saw Blades and Warsong Supplies if nobody in your guild engineers.
- Skip Sharptalon's Claw solo below 29, because Sharptalon is level 31 and holds grudges.
- Skip the second and third hunt breadcrumbs, since one copy opens the same quest.
- Skip the Darkshore finale of The Tower of Althalaxx below 31 unless you bring a group, because Athrikus Narassin is not solo content at 28.
Elite and Group Quests: Do Them or Skip Them
Ashenvale has no elite world bosses at this range, only quests flagged for a group and a handful of mobs that punch above their level. The rule is simple: bring one friend, or memorize the spirit healer's address.
| Quest | Type | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Vorsha the Lasher | Group, 2 players | Do it with one partner , the Horn Ring is worth it |
| King of the Foulweald | Group | Solo at 27 if your class can kite, otherwise pair up |
| Supplies to Auberdine | Escort | Do it , ambushes are light and the rewards are good |
| Torek's Assault | Escort | Do it , Torek tanks for you |
| The Tower of Althalaxx | Solo, hard | Do it at 31 or with a group , Athrikus brings friends |
| Insane Druids | Solo, hard | Wait for 29 , the druids are level 32 |
| Blackfathom Villainy (Alliance) and Blackfathom Villainy (Horde) | Dungeon | Only inside a full group run |
WoW Forever Blackfathom Deeps quests are the only real group content here. The entrance sits on the Zoram Strand near 14, 13. Alliance brings In Search of Thaelrid, Researching the Corruption and Knowledge in the Deeps. Horde brings The Essence of Aku'Mai, Allegiance to the Old Gods, Amongst the Ruins and the drop-started Baron Aquanis, which pays out a blue weapon.
Best Quest Rewards and Zone Drops Worth Keeping
The WoW Forever quest rewards worth routing for are listed below. Everything else is vendor food.
Light of Elune is the sleeper pick: a one-charge consumable that grants immunity to all damage and spells for 10 seconds. Keep it for the Sharptalon pull you will misjudge anyway.
Rares, Farm Spots, and Lore
WoW Forever rares in Ashenvale drop random greens and occasional recipes. None is worth camping; all are worth killing if they walk into your route. Coordinates are spawn points, not promises.
| Rare | Level | Spawn |
|---|---|---|
| Lady Vespia | 22 | 13.6, 24.7 |
| Mist Howler | 22 | 26.8, 18.4 |
| Mugglefin | 23 | 19.4, 42.7 |
| Rorgish Jowl | 25 | 35.8, 36.6 |
| Branch Snapper | 25 | 46.5, 44.3 |
| Akkrilus | 26 | 25.6, 63.5 |
| Oakpaw | 27 | 56.0, 62.8 |
| Eck'alom | 27 | 52.8, 70.1 |
| Ursol'lok | 31 | 83.4, 48.5 |
| Terrowulf Packlord | 32 | 49.8, 39.6 |
| Prince Raze | 32 | 81.6, 48.5 |
Farm spots are the same camps the quests send you to. Thistlefur Village and the Foulweald camp are dense humanoid pulls for cloth and coin, Xavian is the best XP per minute at 28–30, and Mystral Lake is quiet enough to fish between elementals. Forever adds Camping, so drop a campfire at Xavian and let passing players share the buff while you share the respawns.
The lore is why the forest is angry. Ashenvale is the kaldorei homeland, Grom Hellscream killed Cenarius here in the Third War, and Demon Fall Canyon is where Mannoroth died and Grom went with him. The Warsong clan is still logging the trees in revenge nobody asked for. Forever finally opens Mount Hyjal , the mountain above this forest , so the story here is no longer a dead end.
