WoW Forever Stranglethorn Vale is a 30-45 zone done in three visits: arrive at 30-32, return at 37, finish at 42-44, then leave. Horde lands at Grom'gol by zeppelin, Alliance walks south from Duskwood to the Rebel Camp, both factions fly out of Booty Bay. The Nesingwary hunting chains are the spine, the Drowned City is the one dungeon worth a single clear, and every named elite is a group quest wearing a solo costume.

The old hubs still carry the XP. Forever only moved the goalposts around them: dungeon mob XP is reduced, dungeon quest XP is raised, and a repeat run pays less than the first. So the world of warcraft forever leveling route through Stranglethorn Vale is quest-first, with one instance clear in the middle and no farming loops. The jungle has not heard of quality of life, and it does not intend to.

How to Get In: Zeppelins, Boats and Flight Paths

Horde takes the zeppelin from Orgrimmar or Undercity straight to Grom'gol Base Camp. Alliance flies to Darkshire, then walks the road south out of Duskwood until the Rebel Camp appears at the top of the map. Both factions can sail from Ratchet in The Barrens to Booty Bay, which is also how Kalimdor Alliance players arrive without touching Duskwood.

Booty Bay (neutral)/way 27.0 77.2Boat from Ratchet or the long road south

The wow forever flight paths here are stingy. Alliance gets exactly one, in Booty Bay, and nothing in the north. Horde gets two. Talk to every flight master the moment you see one, because a missed Booty Bay flight point means a hundred-yard sprint through level 44 pirates later.

Level Range: When to Come, When to Leave

Show up at 30. Earlier and the first tiger chain kills you, later and the green quests stop paying. This wow forever leveling guide splits the zone into three trips, because quest levels jump from 31 to 43 and nobody enjoys being the level 34 corpse at a level 41 camp.

Quest Hubs and Breadcrumbs

Four hubs, one per mood. The Rebel Camp is Alliance only, Grom'gol is Horde only, Nesingwary and Booty Bay serve anyone who can pay in pelts. Breadcrumbs from other zones are free XP for walking where you were going anyway.

  • Hemet Nesingwary comes from Kravel Koalbeard in Thousand Needles and pays you to deliver a crate you were carrying south anyway.
  • Hunting in Stranglethorn is the Horde version from Desolace and ends at the same hunter.
  • The Troll Witchdoctor sends Horde from Dustwallow Marsh to Kin'weelay with a severed head as a greeting card.
  • Passage to Booty Bay gets Alliance from Ratchet onto the boat and into the zone for free XP.
  • Goblin Sponsorship starts with Gazlowe in Ratchet and chains through Booty Bay back to the Shimmering Flats.
  • The Rumormonger is another Thousand Needles courier job that ends with Krazek in Booty Bay.
  • Supplies to Private Thorsen is the Alliance breadcrumb from Krazek to the Rebel Camp, so grab it if you entered through the south.
  • Welcome to the Jungle is picked up and turned in inside Nesingwary's camp and unlocks every hunting chain, so never skip it.

Nesingwary's Expedition: The Spine of the Zone

The wow forever nesingwary chains decide your whole schedule. Three hunters, four tiers each, and a final boss tiger that only opens after all three finals. Every tier opens at level 28, but quest levels climb from 31 to 43, and the finals need a group or a hunter with trust issues. Kill everything on the way between tiers, since tigers, panthers and raptors all share territory.

All three finals unlock Big Game Hunter: King Bangalash, a level 43 elite tiger on a hill at /way 38.2 35.6. The reward is Master Hunter's Rifle or Master Hunter's Bow, which is the best reason to be a hunter in this zone. The Green Hills of Stranglethorn runs alongside and asks for four chapters: Chapter I, Chapter II, Chapter III and Chapter IV. Pages drop from trolls at random, so buy the missing ones and stop pretending RNG likes you.

Optimal Quest Order

The wow forever stranglethorn quests below follow the three visits. Faction tags mark exclusives; everything else is shared. Anything not listed is either off-level, a detour, or a trap.

Visit One: Levels 30-34

Visit Two: Levels 36-40

Visit Three: Levels 41-45

The Drowned City: One Clear, Then Leave

The wow forever drowned city is the new 35-40 dungeon built from ancient troll ruins that rose out of the sea off the coast, now occupied by trolls, naga and the wreck of a pirate ship. Expect tight packs and patrols that hit hard, so bring crowd control , Forever dungeons reward CC and punish reckless AoE.

  • Run it between the second and third visits, when the Nesingwary tier 3 quests and the dungeon bracket overlap.
  • Collect every quest tied to the instance before zoning in, because quest XP is where Forever moved the reward.
  • Group from the same ruleset and faction, since Forever does not allow cross-ruleset parties.
  • Walk to the entrance with the group, since Blizzard has announced no dungeon finder for Forever.

Booty Bay: Services, Reputation and Pirates

WoW Forever Booty Bay is neutral, and the goblin guards will prove it on anyone who starts a fight. It has both flight masters, the boat to Ratchet, an inn and most of the zone's turn-ins. Killing Bloodsail pirates raises your Steamwheedle standing; killing goblins does the reverse and gets you murdered at the docks.

Elite and Group Quests: Do or Skip

The wow forever elite quests in Stranglethorn fall into two groups: worth a party invite, or worth a hearthstone. The level in brackets is the quest level, not a suggestion.

Farm Spots

  • Bloodsail camps and ships on the south coast give cloth, Steamwheedle reputation and the Hyacinth Macaw lottery ticket.
  • The tiger, panther and raptor belts between Nesingwary and Grom'gol feed skinning and cooking while the hunting quests are still open.
  • Troll ruins in the west give Green Hills pages, which are the most honest gold in the zone.
  • The Mosh'Ogg ogre mound around /way 50 30 is elite-dense, so farm it only with a group that already agreed to die together.

PvP, Rulesets and the Contested Tax

Stranglethorn is contested, and Forever has no realms, only rulesets. On Normal, open world PvP is by consent. On the PvP ruleset, Nesingwary's camp and the road into Booty Bay are where level 60s go to feel important. Quest at off-hours, or accept that the corpse run is part of the route.

Where to Go Next

  • Alliance at 34 heads to Dustwallow Marsh, Desolace or Arathi Highlands before coming back.
  • Horde at 34 heads to Thousand Needles, Desolace or Arathi Highlands before coming back.
  • Anyone at 37-40 can cross into the Riverglades, the new mid-30s to mid-40s zone reached by ship from Tanaris, and treat it as a second jungle without pirates.
  • Anyone at 44-45 goes to Tanaris, Feralas or The Hinterlands and never looks back.

Lore: Trolls, Hunters and Goblin Capitalism

Stranglethorn is the old seat of the Gurubashi Empire, with Zul'Gurub walled off in the northeast and troll ruins rotting everywhere else. Colonel Kurzen came south to fight them, went rogue, and his own soldiers split off into the Rebel Camp. Kurzen's Mystery and Mai'Zoth suggest the trolls helped him lose his mind. Hemet Nesingwary is a Hemingway joke with a rifle, and the Green Hills pages are the punchline.

In the south, Baron Revilgaz and the Steamwheedle Cartel run Booty Bay as a tax haven with teeth, while the Bloodsail Buccaneers want the harbor back. Forever sits in its own continuity , a time bubble in the developers' words , so this is still one zone, not two halves after a cataclysm.

FAQ

Q: What level should I start Stranglethorn Vale in WoW Forever?
Arrive at level 30 to 32, leave around 44 or 45 after the Nesingwary finals and Bloodsail chain are done.

Q: Where are the flight paths in Stranglethorn Vale?
Booty Bay has one flight master per faction. Horde also gets Grom'gol. Alliance walks from Darkshire in Duskwood.

Q: Can I solo Big Game Hunter?
King Bangalash is a level 43 elite tiger, so most classes need a partner or a very patient pet class.

Q: Is the Drowned City worth running?
Yes, once, at 35 to 40 with every quest in the log, since Forever cut dungeon mob XP.

Q: Which Stranglethorn quests should I skip?
Skip Mai'Zoth, Message in a Bottle, Facing Negolash and The Captain's Chest unless a group forms around you.
