The Overclocked Power Trip event is live in Apex Legends right now, running from June 2 through June 23. What is the Overclocked Power Trip event?
Power Trip is a three-week limited-time event built around a narrative conceit: experimental biology-altering stims have flooded the Outlands, giving Legends powers that bend the rules of normal battle royale play. Mechanically, that translates into Wildcard mode receiving a batch of nine possible round modifiers, applied randomly across five-round sessions. Some rounds play completely straight, others turn the match into something barely recognizable as Apex.
The map rotation is the other big structural change. Kings Canyon, Olympus, and Broken Moon cycle every 15 minutes within a Wildcard match, meaning you can start a round on one map and find yourself dropping onto a different one before your session ends. Which mutations change the meta the most?
Red Handed is probably the most disruptive modifier for experienced players. Everyone walking around with Mythic-tier weapons eliminates the usual early-game looting phase entirely, which means engagements start faster and positioning matters more from the first second. Explosive is the one most likely to produce genuinely chaotic moments: infinite grenades mean zone control and building pressure become trivial, and the death explosion adds a layer of risk to every close-quarters finish.
Crouching Camo rewards patient, methodical play more than any other modifier. Since combat breaks the cloak, aggressive Legends lose their invisibility the moment they commit to a fight. What rewards can you earn?
The Power Trip event uses a Vials currency system. You earn Vials by playing during the event and spend them in the Rewards Shop to unlock event items. Some cosmetics also require direct in-game purchases rather than Vials alone.
The weekly reward structure breaks down by Legend:

Ash's Prestige skin: what's included?
The headliner cosmetic for Power Trip is Ash's first-ever Prestige skin, built around the lore of her pushing beyond the limits of Simulacrum technology. The skin comes with multiple upgrade tiers, a custom Finisher animation, and a unique Dive Trail visible to everyone as she drops into a match.
Prestige skins in Apex are tiered unlocks rather than single purchases, so expect to invest time or currency to reach the higher visual states. The custom Finisher and Dive Trail are locked behind the skin's progression, not available as standalone items.

How does the Wildcard map rotation work?
Previous Wildcard mode sessions used the same map throughout a session. Power Trip changes that by giving Wildcard its own dedicated rotation across Kings Canyon, Olympus, and Broken Moon, cycling every 15 minutes. Each map plays differently under the mutations. Featherweight's verticality advantage plays out differently on Olympus's open skyline versus Kings Canyon's tighter corridors.
