Bombanana! is the three-player co-op puzzle game where a blind monkey, a deaf monkey, and a mute monkey have to defuse a bomb together. The catch: none of them have the full picture. Developed by Lefto Studio and published by TARK, it hits PC on September 2, 2026, and the communication chaos it promises has already pulled in over six million demo players before the full game even launched.
When does Bombanana! release?
The full game goes live on September 2, 2026 at 13:00 UTC. Here are the regional breakdowns so you can set your alarm:
This is a global simultaneous unlock, not a rolling midnight release by region. All three players in your group need to be ready at the same time, so coordinating across time zones matters here more than it does in most games.
What platforms is Bombanana! on?
Bombanana! launches on Windows PC and macOS through Steam. There are no announced console versions for PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, and no Linux build has been confirmed. Steam Deck support has not been officially rated by Valve, so handheld play should not be assumed until the live build is tested.
The price has not been announced. The game is listed as a paid title rather than free-to-play, but no dollar amount, regional pricing, or launch discount has been published ahead of release.

What are the three monkey roles in Bombanana!?
Every session locks each of the three players into one role. None of the roles can solo the solution, which is the entire point.
- Blind Monkey: can physically interact with the bomb and operate its modules, but cannot see colors or read any on-screen information. Completely dependent on teammates to describe what they are seeing.
- Mute Monkey: holds the bomb-defusal manual and can read all the rules and instructions, but cannot speak. Has to convey critical information through gestures, pointing, and timing alone.
- Deaf Monkey: can see the bomb and watch teammates gesture, but cannot hear any voice communication. Bridges the visual gap between what is happening and what others are trying to say.
The design forces all three players to stay engaged simultaneously. The Blind Monkey is touching things without knowing what they look like. The Mute Monkey knows exactly what to do but has no voice to say it. The Deaf Monkey sees everything but hears nothing. Pointing, hand gestures, and improvised signals are not optional extras, they are the actual puzzle layer sitting on top of the bomb modules.

What game modes does Bombanana! have?
The full launch ships with three distinct modes:
- Campaign: 30 handcrafted levels that introduce new mechanics and harder bomb configurations as your team progresses. This is the intended starting point for new players.
- Endless: procedurally generated waves that keep scaling in difficulty. No fixed endpoint, designed for groups who want a repeatable challenge after finishing the campaign.
- Custom: a rules sandbox where players can adjust bomb difficulty, explosion timers, module types, environmental hazards, and the number of allowed mistakes. Useful for experimenting with setups or creating challenges for friends.
No competitive mode has been announced. The campaign's 30 levels represent the only stated structured content length.
What content is new at full launch?
The launch build adds content that was not available in the demo:
- 14 new puzzle modules (11 standard, 3 Chaos modules designed specifically to keep the Blind Monkey occupied)
- 16 achievements
- A new airplane environment with its own interactive objects and unique hazards
- Environmental interruptions including power outages, loud noises, and dangerous objects that can disrupt communication mid-session
- An emote wheel with hand gestures, slap interactions, and voice-synced mouth animation on monkey characters
- Role randomization in the lobby
The Chaos modules in particular are worth noting. They target the Blind Monkey specifically, adding a second layer of pressure on the player who is already operating without sight.
Can you play Bombanana! with two players or solo?
No. The game requires exactly three online players. There is no solo mode, no AI teammate option, no two-player scaling, and no four-player expansion. Every session needs a full trio.
You do not need to be Steam friends with your teammates before playing. The launch build includes a public lobby browser, a server browser for finding players globally, and room codes that let anyone join a specific session directly. Three strangers can technically form a team, though communication quality will vary.
What are the PC and Mac system requirements?
Windows
macOS
Broadband is a hard requirement because Bombanana! has no offline mode. The 300 MB footprint on Windows is small enough that storage should not be a concern for most players.
Is the Bombanana! demo available?
The demo was pulled on August 20 so Lefto Studio could test full-game features, but it is confirmed to return when the full game launches on September 2. The returning demo is expected to retain its previous content plus a couple of new additions.
What is not confirmed: whether old demo progress carries over to the full game, and whether demo players can join sessions with players who own the full version. Treat those as open questions until the live build answers them.
Accessibility and controller support
The launch build supports full controllers including DualShock and DualSense, keyboard-only and mouse-only input, and save-anytime functionality. The UI and launch color palette were adapted for two types of color blindness. These accommodations do not remove the bomb countdown or timing pressure, they address input and interface options while the core game remains intact.
Why is Bombanana! getting attention before launch?
Lefto Studio reported one million Steam wishlists in August 2026, following the six million players who tried the demo. For a small-studio, three-player-only puzzle game with no solo mode and an unannounced price, that prelaunch reach is unusual. The concept does most of the selling: three people, a ticking bomb, and no single person with enough information to defuse it alone.
