Steam Community :: Coffee Talk Tokyo

Coffee Talk Tokyo packs 44 achievements across two equal halves: 22 visible from the start and 22 hidden ones tied to story moments, character endings, and post-credits scenes. For a cozy visual novel where your main job is brewing drinks and watching conversations unfold, that list is surprisingly demanding. Several require multiple playthroughs, precise drink orders on specific days, and a fair amount of time staring at the latte art screen. This guide covers every single one.

How long does it take to unlock every achievement?

Expect roughly 15 to 20 hours for full completion. A clean first playthrough of Story Mode, where you nail all best endings, runs around 9 hours. A second pass, fast-forwarding through dialogue to catch missed Gallery art and alternate story outcomes, adds another 2 hours at most. The remaining time goes toward Challenge Mode milestones, filling the Brewpad, cycling through every song, and the infamous 1-hour latte art grind.

Story-specific and scene-based hidden achievements

These do not require perfect drink records for every character, but most depend on getting specific orders right at key moments.

Seattle-Tokyo (Meet an old-timer in a new place): Story-unmissable.

Father and Daughter (Meet Rachel in Tokyo): Rachel appears on Day 14 if you serve Hendry and Jun correctly. Hendry's orders: Day 1 is Hojicha, Hojicha, Hojicha (Warm); Day 10 is Tea, Mango, Ice Cream (Cold). Jun's orders are listed above.

One For the Head... One For the Heart (Get Kenji to drink high and low): Serve Kenji the right drink. He will eventually hold it to his forehead before drinking. This does not happen on his first visit, so keep getting his orders right across multiple days.

Madeleine de Ghost (Serve bento to Ayame): On Day 8, Yuki and Erika bring bento to the cafe for Ayame. Follow that up by making Ayame a warm Matcha (Green Tea, Green Tea, Green Tea).

Messenger Between Worlds (Get Ayame and Akiko to talk): Requires Fuku to be present on Day 15. Get all of Fuku's and Ayame's drinks right throughout the game. Akiko's one order on Day 15 is Hojicha, Yuzu, Honey (Warm), which may also matter.

The Ghost Busted (View the selfie of the three ladies in a bar): Get Yuki, Emi, and Fuku's drinks mostly right so they bond. A selfie of all three appears on Tomodachill on Day 10 (Monday, August 10th).

Summer Love (See Vin and Blue holding hands): Happens during the story if you get enough of Blue's and Vin's orders right. Drink lists for both are above.

The Dragon Within (Get Jun to transform into a dragon): Get all of Jun's orders right. He transforms on Day 12.

Special Cameo (Find Tomodachill posts of Seattle regulars): Characters from the original Coffee Talk appear on Tomodachill, but not all show up in a single playthrough. Check every post across multiple runs and tap hashtags to trigger hidden posts.

True Blue Nights (Get Blue Nights vocals to play over the credits): Get Jun and Rachel to play together. Follow the guides for both Father and Daughter and Inspiration From the Source. The vocals may not appear until the second playthrough.

The World's Warmest Violin (Trigger the Akiko violin scene in after credits): Reunite Akiko and Ayame and have them resolve their differences. Everything needed is covered in the Messenger Between Worlds section above.

What is the fastest way to handle Challenge Mode achievements?

Challenge Mode is accessible by selecting Endless from the main menu. The three tiered achievements are Barista Trainee (10 correct orders), Barista Expert (25 correct orders), and Barista Guru (50 correct orders), all in a single session with a time limit.

The gap between 25 and 50 is where most players stall. Speed matters as much as accuracy. Before attempting Barista Guru, spend time in Free Brew mode to drill the recipes you hesitate on. Drinks with triple-same ingredients (like Espresso or Matcha) are your fastest orders. Yuzu and Honey combinations come up frequently and are worth memorizing cold.

The Gallery lives in the Extra section of the main menu. Most artwork unlocks by finding posts on Tomodachill across multiple playthroughs. Some pieces are handed over directly by characters during the story, and getting their drink orders right increases the chances of that happening. Plan at least two full playthroughs with different outcomes to catch everything.

Achievement categories at a glance

For the full collection of Coffee Talk Tokyo guides, including drink recipes and walkthrough breakdowns, that resource hub has everything organized by category. If you enjoy adventure games with strong narrative systems, the way Coffee Talk Tokyo ties achievement progress to character outcomes is worth paying attention to before your first playthrough, not after.

The total of 1,000 Gamerscore across 44 achievements sounds tidy, but the path there asks you to play attentively, brew precisely, and return for a second run. Get the drink orders right from Day 1 and most of the list falls into place on its own.
