Bow Mastery Challenges in Crimson Desert are easy to miss if you don't know where the Sealed Abyss Artifacts are hiding. There are 6 in total, each one locked behind a specific artifact scattered across different regions. Complete them all and you'll earn the Master of Bows trophy or achievement, plus a steady supply of Abyss Artifacts and Faded Abyss Artifacts that directly feed into your skill progression and build flexibility.
What are Bow Mastery Challenges in Crimson Desert?
Bow Mastery Challenges belong to the Mastery category of Crimson Desert's broader challenge system. Each challenge is named Bow Aimed at Fate (I through VI) and must be unlocked individually by picking up a Sealed Abyss Artifact at a specific world location. The artifact doesn't come to you — you have to find it first, then the challenge activates.
The challenges themselves test different aspects of bow combat: timed kills, consecutive arrow kills, aerial shots, long-range bird takedowns, and ability-specific hits. They're not all equal in difficulty, and some have clearer completion strategies than others.
info
Before attempting any Bow Mastery Challenge, invest in bow damage skills from the skill tree. The timed and consecutive kill challenges in particular become much more forgiving with higher damage output.

All Bow Challenge Locations and How to Unlock Them
Bow Aimed at Fate I
Artifact Location: Head to the Hernand region and look for the intersection directly west of Glenbright Farm. The Sealed Abyss Artifact sits right at that crossroads.
Challenge: Defeat 5 enemies with a bow within 60 seconds.
How to Complete: Find a camp or patrol group with at least 5 enemies clustered reasonably close together. Prioritize bow damage skills before starting. The 60-second window is tight if your damage is low, so don't attempt this under-leveled.
Rewards: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Infinite Arrows I

Bow Aimed at Fate II
Artifact Location: Still in Hernand, on the north side of the road southeast of Claphade Outpost.
Challenge: Defeat 7 enemies in a row using only normal arrows.
How to Complete: Stock up on arrows before starting. The key word here is "in a row" — switching to a different weapon or arrow type resets your count. Find a location with a steady stream of enemies and work through them methodically. Bow damage skills help significantly here too.
Rewards: 1x Abyss Artifact
warning
Switching weapons mid-challenge will reset your consecutive kill count. Commit to the bow for the entire sequence.
Bow Aimed at Fate III
Artifact Location: Travel to the Pailune region. The artifact is on the roadside immediately southeast of Beighen Candlery.
Challenge: Hit 3 enemies in mid-air with a bow.
How to Complete: This requires launching or catching enemies while they're airborne. Launch skills or knockback abilities that send enemies into the air, then follow up with a bow shot before they land. Specific completion details are still being confirmed by the community, but the core mechanic is consistent: get enemies off the ground, then shoot.
Rewards: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Insight I
Bow Aimed at Fate IV
Artifact Location: This one requires progress into the Crimson Desert region itself. Find the artifact on the side of the road west of the Well of Reflection.
Challenge: Take down 3 birds with a bow from over 15 metres away.
How to Complete: The open terrain of the Crimson Desert region works in your favor here. Vultures are plentiful and there are no trees obstructing your line of sight. Aim from a distance, confirm you're past the 15-metre threshold, and pick off three birds. This is one of the more straightforward challenges once you're in the right area.
Rewards: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Headstart I
Bow Aimed at Fate V
Artifact Location: In the Demeniss region, at the intersection southeast of Beighen. Look for a small wooden shrine — the artifact is inside it.
Challenge: Take down 5 enemies at once from over 20 metres away using a bow.
How to Complete: The 20-metre range requirement and the simultaneous kill condition make this the most demanding challenge in the set. You'll need enemies grouped tightly enough that a single volley or rapid sequence counts as "at once." Specific strategies are still being refined, but area-effect arrow skills or positioning enemies near environmental chokepoints should help.
Rewards: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Greater Infinite Arrows
danger
The 20-metre minimum distance for Bow Aimed at Fate V is stricter than the 15-metre requirement in challenge IV. Don't underestimate the gap — confirm your range before firing.
Bow Aimed at Fate VI
Artifact Location: Back to Pailune, this time on the roadside northeast of Ridgepath Post.
Challenge: Hit 5 enemies with Focused Shot.
How to Complete: You'll need to have Focused Shot unlocked as a bow skill before this challenge becomes completable. Once you have it, find groups of enemies and land 5 total hits with that specific ability. The hits don't need to be consecutive, just cumulative.
Rewards: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Faded Abyss Artifact, 1x Composure I
What do the rewards actually do?
Abyss Artifacts are the primary currency for learning new skills or upgrading skills and core stats you've already unlocked. Every challenge drops at least one, making the Bow Mastery series a reliable source of progression materials regardless of your playstyle.
Faded Abyss Artifacts serve a different purpose: they reset your skill tree, letting you respec into a completely different build or optimize an existing one. Challenge VI is the only bow challenge that drops one, so it's worth prioritizing if you're planning a build overhaul.
The arrow-related rewards (Infinite Arrows I and Greater Infinite Arrows) are practical quality-of-life items that reduce the pressure of managing ammo during extended bow sessions. Insight I, Headstart I, and Composure I are skill items that feed directly into your character's stat development.
Tips for completing Bow Challenges efficiently
- Prioritize bow skills early. The timed kill challenge (I) and the consecutive kill challenge (II) both become significantly easier with higher bow damage. Skill investment pays off across multiple challenges at once.
- Bring enough arrows. Challenge II specifically requires 7 consecutive kills with normal arrows. Running dry mid-sequence wastes the attempt.
- Use the Crimson Desert region for Challenge IV. The open terrain and vulture population make the 15-metre bird shot requirement straightforward compared to more forested areas.
- Unlock Focused Shot before attempting Challenge VI. You can't complete it without the skill, so check your skill tree first.
- Challenges don't need to be done in order. If you're already in Pailune, grab the artifacts for III and VI while you're there.
