Bowsprit Cape Puzzle Walkthrough in ...

The Bowsprit Cape puzzle is one of those moments in Crimson Desert where the game gives you almost no hints and expects you to figure out that the answer is floating somewhere above your head. Literally. Four Abyss Cores power a broken elevator that will carry you up into the Abyss chain, but finding all of them requires knowing exactly where to look and when to look up. This guide walks you through every step.

How do you get to the Bowsprit Cape puzzle?

There are two ways to reach this area. The first is through normal story progression: complete the Six Statues and the Beast Quest in Chapter 9, then finish the Ascetic's Rest puzzle. That unlocks a triangle gate leading to a teleporter. Instead of sending you to the next Abyss island, that teleporter deposits you at ground level in Bowsprit Cape, according to both TheGamer and PowerPyx's walkthroughs.

The second route skips the story gating entirely. Head south of Demeniss and follow the peninsula toward the Bay of Abundance. You are looking for a large, tilted elevator structure resting on the ground at an angle. It is hard to miss once you know what you are searching for.

What are the four Abyss Cores and where are they?

The elevator needs four Abyss Cores to power up. Three are rectangular and one is square-shaped. Here is where each one is located.

Cores 1 and 2 are the easy ones. Enter the elevator through the hole in the roof, and you will spot them floating inside the chamber. Use your Axiom Force to grab each one and drop it into any of the three rectangular slots on the floor.

Core 3 requires stepping outside. Look through the broken wall opening to the south and you will see it floating just a few feet away. Grab it with Axiom Force and guide it back inside to fill the last rectangular slot.

How do you reach the floating square Abyss Core?

This is the part that trips most players up. Core 4 is not inside the elevator, not in any nearby cave, and not at eye level. Tilt your camera to face south and then angle it steeply upward. The square Abyss Core is floating high in the sky above the elevator structure. At night it can be extremely difficult to spot, so if you are struggling, try returning during daylight hours in-game.

To reach it, climb up onto the cliff beside the elevator. From there, perform a triple jump to gain as much height as possible, then activate your glide at the peak. While gliding, use Axiom Force (hold TAB on PC or the corresponding button on console) to lock onto the core. Once connected, begin pulling it downward as you descend toward the elevator.

According to the PowerPyx walkthrough, you can also boost your height further by using a mid-air Force Palm (Mouse Wheel on PC) at the top of your jump before opening the glide. This gives you the extra altitude needed to connect with the core cleanly.

Guide the core through the elevator opening and slam it into the square slot using a Force Palm strike to lock it in place.

What happens after you power the elevator?

Once the square core is slotted, the elevator activates and begins ascending. Stay inside the structure at all costs. The elevator does not just rise straight up, it also rotates as it climbs, so you need to move with the rotation to avoid falling through the openings in the walls and floor.

Midway through the ascent, the elevator stops. The square Abyss Core you slotted gets displaced by the movement. Approach it, use Axiom Force to drag it back into position, and use Force Palm to lock it in place again. The elevator will resume its climb.

Keep avoiding the holes as the structure continues rotating. Once it flips back to its original orientation and stops moving, you have arrived at the Path of Serpents Abyss Island, which is also called Snakehead Valley in some sources. That completes the Bowsprit Cape puzzle.
