In Duskfade, there are two boss fights along your path to break the first chain: Wrath in Howling Geode and Guayota in Prison of the Beast. This guide covers both bosses, their attacks, and how to defeat them.
Wrath

Wrath, the emotion made flesh, is the first main boss in Duskfade. This humanoid enemy fights with gear-blade arms and is far more aggressive than the regular foes you encounter on the way to Howling Geode.
This fight is the first real test of using movement during combat. Wrath's aggression makes positioning critical, so knowing when to back off is just as important as finding openings to attack.
Wrath's Attack Patterns
Wrath's Pillar Phase
At 75%, 50%, and 25% health, Wrath jumps to the centre of the arena and begins charging. Pillars rise beneath him and across the arena, including along the outer edge. You must jump from pillar to pillar to reach Wrath and knock him back to the ground before he finishes charging.
Wrath's Rewards
Defeating Wrath rewards you with a chest containing 1000 Star Shards and a memory featuring Zirian, Allira, and their grandfather, Tristan. It also unlocks access to the next area, Mount Cinder.
Guayota

Guayota is the final boss of the Volcano Path, fought in the circular arena inside Prison of the Beast. Unlike the humanoid Wrath, Guayota is a much larger quadrupedal creature with a steampunk engine mounted on its back and several area-of-effect attacks.
Guayota's Attack Patterns
Guayota's Pillar Phase
Every time Guayota loses 25% of its health, a pillar attack is triggered. The boss moves to the centre of the arena and begins jumping in place while pillars fall from above.
Before lava floods the arena, climb to the highest pillar and look up for chains around the walls. Grapple and pull all available chains to make the lava descend, allowing you to return to the ground and continue the fight.
Guayota's Rewards
Defeating Guayota unlocks a second slot for your refillable potion, allowing you to carry two potions at once. You also receive another memory featuring the three family members. Most importantly, this victory lets you break the first chain locking the tower where your sister is being held.
