The To the Skies quest in ARC Raiders is one of those missions that sounds simple until you realize you need four specific arc components, a crashed probe scan, and the right map knowledge to pull it all together. Here's the lowdown on every step.
What the quest actually asks of you
The quest is given by Apollo and centers on repairing a Gondola Prototype, one of the vehicles used to shuttle raiders up to Pendola Pass. Before you can touch the gondola itself, though, you need to scan a crashed Arc Probe and an Arc Courier out in the field. These are separate objectives and both need to be ticked off before the repair phase unlocks.
Crashed probes and couriers are common spawns across almost every map. Follow the smoke plumes or watch for their icons once you're in range. The Electromagnetic Storm map condition pushes spawn rates up noticeably, so if you're having trouble finding either, queue into a storm event.
The four arc parts you need to gather
This is where most players hit a wall. To the Skies requires one of each of the following:
- Arc Performance Steel: Drops from large arc units including Bastions, Bombardiers, Leapers, and Baron Husks.
- Pop Trigger: Salvaged from small exploding Pop robots or Arc Couriers.
- Arc Thermo Lining: Found on Pops, Fireballs, and Baron Husks.
- Arc Synthetic Resin: Comes from intact Arc Probes or Baron Husks.
What most players miss is that Baron Husks can drop three of the four parts, making them the most efficient single target to farm if you're still short on materials. The exception is the Pop Trigger, which requires you to deal with the smaller, more annoying Pop-class enemies or couriers specifically.
Finding the Gondola Prototype on Spaceport
The gondola can appear on multiple maps, but Spaceport is one of the most consistent locations to complete this. The prototype sits just east of the eastern exfil elevator, north of Communications Tower and south of East Plains Warehouses. You'll find it resting on its side against some crates near a raider structure.
The key here is having all four arc parts in your inventory before you head to the location. You can't partially install components and come back later during the same run, so make sure the full set is ready before you commit to the repair.
Once you're at the gondola, install all four parts through the interaction prompt, then activate it. The quest completes at that point. Back away slightly before the activation animation finishes, just to avoid any collision weirdness.
Why this quest is worth the effort
To the Skies is part of a broader chain of Apollo's quests that flesh out the transportation infrastructure storyline in ARC Raiders. Completing it opens up further missions tied to Pendola Pass access, which connects to some of the game's higher-tier expedition content. Getting this done early means you're not gating yourself out of those later rewards.
The arc parts required here also overlap with materials needed for other quests, so farming Baron Husks and Pop enemies while working toward To the Skies doubles as prep for missions like the Power Out quest and the A Prime Specimen quest, both of which pull from similar arc enemy loot pools.
