The City of Dalaran is now open as a dungeon in the WoW Forever beta. Blizzard announced on 8 October that beta week 4 lets you "team up & take on the City of Dalaran", alongside content from previous weeks and a level cap raised to 30. Here's what the dungeon is, how each faction gets in, what drops, and what the attunement looks like.
What Is the City of Dalaran Dungeon in WoW Forever?
It's a new five-player dungeon set inside the walled mage city of Dalaran, in the Alterac Mountains. WoW Forever Guides lists the recommended level range as 28 to 33, making it one of the dungeons the new level 30 cap opens up.
Zockify's dungeon guide lists nine bosses:
- Arcane Anomaly
- Fel Ancient
- Mana Devourer
- Mana Elemental
- Unstable Sentinel
- Shade of the Archmage
- Lyn the Ignored(rare spawn , not guaranteed every run)
- Atrexis the Grave Knight
- Mana Wraith
How Do You Get the Dalaran Attunement as Horde?
You need a key, earned through an attunement questline that starts in Tarren Mill. Per Seramate's attunement guide, the Horde chain runs in this order:
- Prison Break In , recover the traitors' artifacts for Magus Wordeen Voidglare.
- Key to the City , find the Grimy Key for the Magus.
- Dalaran Patrols , defeat six Dalaran Summoners and twelve Elemental Slaves.
- Blood in the Streets , take the Grimy Key to the Image of Archmage Modera outside Dalaran.
- Heart of Disruption , the dungeon quest, which rewards the Dalaran Sewer Key.
Keeper Bel'varil in Tarren Mill also hands out two side quests along the way: Stone Tokens and Bracers of Binding.
Guides don't fully agree on the minimum level required for the chain , figures range from 24 to 30 , so check the quest giver when you arrive.
Alliance Attunement
Alliance players have a much shorter attunement. It starts with An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in Southshore, followed by Heart of Disruption.
Where Is the Dalaran Dungeon Entrance?
The entrance location depends on your faction.

Only one player in the group needs the Dalaran Sewer Key for the Horde entrance.
What Quests Does the Dalaran Dungeon Have?
Each faction gets four dungeon quests.
Horde Dungeon Quests
Per WoW Forever Guides and Zockify:
- Heart of Disruption (Image of Archmage Modera): collect the Arcane Mote. Rewards Battle Spaulders, Enchanted Sandals, or Striking Staff.
- The Grave Knight (Melisara, Tarren Mill): kill Atrexis the Grave Knight. Rewards Gravewalker Boots or Undead Knight's Bracers.
- Source of Power (Doctor Martin Felben, Undercity): collect six Cracked Sentry Cores. Rewards Unstable Power Core, a wand, or Construct Cloak.
- Opportunistic Education (Rexxie Copperclutch, Alterac Mountains): collect The Founding of Dalaran.
Alliance Dungeon Quests
Alliance receive A Green Sample, Power Overwhelming, Starving Arcane, and their own version of Heart of Disruption , which can reward Spellguard Pauldrons, Renewing Footpads, or the Defender of Dalaran two-hand mace.
What Drops in the City of Dalaran?

If any of these is a weapon type you haven't used before , like the axe for a sword user , you'll start that weapon skill from scratch, so level it up before relying on it in content.
What Should You Know About the Bosses?
From WoW Forever Guides' boss notes:
- Arcane Anomaly sweeps a rotating arcane beam called Focal Blast.
- Fel Ancient sits behind a mana barrier until the bosses around it are dead.
- Unstable Sentinel's Malfunction is a 25-yard burst , spread out.
- Shade of the Archmage throws a boomerang projectile and can Mass Polymorph the group.
- Atrexis the Grave Knight summons Frail Skeletons and can disarm you.
Getting There as Horde
The attunement chain starts in Tarren Mill, which is also where the Horde questing hub is at this level range. If you're levelling through that area, you can pick up the chain naturally on the way. The recommended level is 28, with the dungeon scaling up to 33, so there's a reasonable window to run it without being over-levelled.
For players who came back to WoW and are deciding on a PvE server, Dalaran is a solid dungeon goal to work toward from the Tarren Mill questing area.
