The single most time-efficient Hero XP method right now is running the tutorial on repeat. Every completed tutorial awards 900 Hero XP, regardless of how many runs you have already done or which maps you have cleared. That number does not decrease with repetition.
The key is treating it as a speedrun, not a tutorial. Skip every objective except the boss fight, since the boss must be defeated to trigger extraction. The Shotgun is the recommended weapon for this loop because of its raw burst damage against the tutorial boss. Invest attribute points into Jump Height and Speed, and equip the Portal spell to move across the map faster.
Once the boss is down, call the extraction. The tutorial train arrives in 30 seconds, compared to the standard 90-second wait on regular missions. Enemies continue spawning endlessly after the train is called, giving you a sustained damage window for as long as your ammo holds out.
This method works best when you have already finished the mission's objectives and just need raw Weapon XP without caring about Hero XP efficiency.
Stack damage-focused Jokers
Since Weapon XP scales from damage output, Jokers that increase your damage directly increase your XP rate. Glass Cannon is the standout option here, boosting overall damage at the cost of survivability.
