The Squibbly Shores Lighthouse Vault is one of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2's best-kept secrets. Unlike most vaults that require defeating a boss or cracking open a bank, this one asks you to go fishing first. The payoff is real: guaranteed Rare and Epic weapons, healing items, and a Pro Fishing Rod dropped in a spot most squads completely ignore. Only one team per match can claim it, so knowing exactly where to go and what to do makes all the difference.
Where is the Squibbly Shores lighthouse vault?
The vault sits inside Squibbly's Point Lighthouse, a small island structure just off the main Squibbly Shores POI on the west side of the area. Walk through the front door and you'll find the vault immediately on the first floor: a screen with a keypad attached to a green pole. You can't interact with it at all until you have the keycard, so don't waste time poking at it before you've done the fishing step.
The vault is on the first floor of the lighthouse, not up in the tower. Head straight in through the front door and it's right in front of you.

How do you get the lighthouse keycard?
This is the part most players miss. The Lighthouse Keycard can't be found in a chest or looted off an NPC. You have to fish it out of a special glowing blue fishing spot in the water surrounding the lighthouse island.
Here's the full step-by-step:
- Grab a fishing rod. Fishing rod barrels are scattered around the area. There's one on every pier near the lighthouse and another on the north edge of the small ruined island slightly north of the lighthouse, next to a single green tree. Interact with a barrel to pull one out.
- Spot the blue fishing pool. Look for a shiny, turquoise-colored pool in the water near the lighthouse. It has a faint rainbow shimmer that makes it stand out from regular fishing spots. You can often see it clearly while gliding in during the drop.
- Cast into the glowing pool. Throw your line directly into the blue spot. Wait for the lure to dip below the surface before reeling in.
- Reel in the keycard. When you pull the line up, the keycard drops nearby for you to collect. If the shiny pool disappears after you reel in, that's confirmation you caught it. According to multiple sources covering Chapter 7 Season 2, the pool can spawn in a random position within the surrounding water, so scan the whole shoreline if you don't see it immediately.
If you miss the bite on your first cast, you might reel in a loot chest instead of the keycard. Keep casting into the same spot until the keycard drops.
How to open the Squibbly Shores lighthouse vault
Once the keycard is in your inventory, head back to the lighthouse. Walk inside and approach the keycard scanner on the green pole. Open your inventory, hover over the keycard, and then interact with the scanner. The vault opens instantly and drops the loot in front of you.
The whole process from landing to opening the vault takes roughly two to three minutes if you move efficiently. That's fast enough to do it before the first storm circle closes in most matches.
Only one Lighthouse Keycard exists per match. If you arrive at the fishing spot and the blue pool is gone, another player already fished it up and the vault is either open or about to be. Rotate out and prioritize other loot instead.
What loot does the lighthouse vault give you?
The vault doesn't drop any exclusive items, but the quality is consistently high. Based on testing across multiple matches, here's what you can expect:
The Pro Fishing Rod is worth noting separately. It lets you fish more efficiently anywhere on the map, which is useful in a season where fishing spots hold meaningful loot. The two weapons pull from the standard Chapter 7 Season 2 loot pool at Rare or Epic rarity, so you're not getting anything exclusive, but two guaranteed high-tier weapons from a two-minute detour is a strong value play.
