Pearl is the first dedicated sustainer on the Path of Elation in Honkai: Star Rail, and she does not play like any healer before her. She blocks damage, generates SP, hands out extra turns, and cycles her Ultimate faster than most damage dealers. Here's the short answer: if you already run an Elation team, Pearl is a near-mandatory upgrade. If you don't, she's a strong healer who loses most of her edge.

Pearl — Path of Elation sustainer

What does Pearl actually do?

Pearl is an Ice-element sustainer whose entire kit scales with how many Elation characters you bring. Her signature resource is Certified Banger, which converts directly into a shared damage shield for the whole team. Each Banger provides 200 points of shared shielding, capped at 50 stacks, giving a theoretical ceiling of 10,000 shared shield points. When an ally takes a hit, 60% of that damage gets redirected to the shared shield instead. Allies below 50% HP also receive an additional 30% damage reduction on top of that.

Her enhanced Basic Attack is the core of her rotation. It heals the entire team (with extra healing for the lowest-HP ally), generates SP instead of consuming it, removes one debuff from every ally, and deals AoE Elation damage. Because it both heals and generates SP, you'll almost always prefer it over her Skill unless your Certified Banger resource runs low.

How her Ultimate works

Pearl's Ultimate is where the build comes together. It grants 20 Certified Banger, applies her Archetype buff to a selected ally, restores all three enhanced Basic Attack charges, and advances that ally's action by up to 30% depending on how many Elation characters are in the party. With four Elation characters, the target also receives a true extra turn.

The hidden mechanic that makes her rotation tick: when the designated ally uses their own Ultimate, Pearl receives 90 fixed Energy. That's roughly half her Ultimate cost handed back for free, which lets you chain ultimates on demand in the right team composition. The target cannot use their Ultimate during the extra turn itself, so choosing who gets the buff matters.

What's the best build for Pearl?

Pearl wants zero crit stats. That alone makes her easier to gear than most 5-stars. Focus your substat farming on Speed and Defense.

RopeEnergy Regeneration RateEnergy Regeneration Rate

Speed is Pearl's highest priority stat. More actions mean more healing, more SP generation, and faster Ultimate cycling. A practical target is 160+ Speed, with optimized builds pushing toward 180-190. For Defense, 3,000+ is a useful baseline and 4,000 DEF represents a high-end investment. Aim for around 50% total Effect RES to reduce debuff vulnerability.

Best relic sets for Pearl

The Dreamlet Actor four-piece set is her best-in-slot. The two-piece gives 6% Elation damage, and the four-piece triggers a 16% Elation damage buff for the ally Pearl targets with her Skill or Ultimate, plus a teamwide 12% Crit DMG bonus whenever Pearl holds 10 or more Certified Banger. That Crit DMG bonus applies to the whole party, making it valuable even in non-Pearl-focused setups.

Warrior of Sun and Thunder is a strong alternative because Pearl heals every single turn, meaning the teamwide Crit DMG bonus from that set activates consistently. The Eagle of Twilight Line four-piece is worth considering if you want extra action advance on her Ultimate. A mixed two-piece Speed set plus Messenger works as a temporary option while you farm better pieces.

For Planar Ornaments, Sprightly Vonwacq helps with the opening energy ramp, while Broken Keel provides teamwide Crit DMG and is usually the stronger long-term choice in full Elation compositions where multiple characters have low Attack scaling.

Which light cone should you use?

Pearl's signature Light Cone is her strongest dedicated option, providing substantial DEF plus additional benefits after using her Elation Skill: enemy vulnerability, fixed Energy, and teamwide healing. That said, it's widely considered skippable.

The free craftable four-star Mushy Shroomy's Adventures (also referred to as Shroom's Adventures in some sources) closes most of the gap at S5: 20% personal Elation bonus and 10% more Elation damage taken by enemies. That's the F2P default and it saves a significant amount of Stellar Jade. Between her signature and E1, take E1 — the Eidolon provides a 60% teamwide Elation buff at four Elation characters plus two revives, which outweighs the Light Cone's contribution.

Best teams for Pearl

The formula is straightforward: Pearl plus Elation characters. Her buffs scale with Elation count, and her extra-turn mechanic rewards knowing which ally benefits most from an additional action.

Who should receive Pearl's Ultimate?

The right target changes by team:

  • Silver Wolf Lv.999: The Punchline synergy feeds significant hidden value. Most players route the Ultimate here as a default.
  • Evanescia: Enables her double-Ultimate pattern. Pearl can frequently target Evanescia because of her reliable Ultimate frequency.
  • Yao Guang: Allows her to ult faster, triggering more Aha instances and accelerating the team's damage cycle.
  • Sparkle: Makes excellent use of the extra SP and helps cycle Pearl's Ultimate in return.

Outside Elation compositions, Pearl functions as a strong healer but loses her action advance and damage amplification benefits. In those contexts, she doesn't clearly outvalue dedicated sustainers like Huohuo or Fu Xuan.

Pearl Eidolons: what's worth chasing?

Pearl is fully functional at E0. Her sustain works, her rotation is complete, and Mushy Shroomy's Adventures covers most of the Light Cone gap. Early Eidolons improve damage and team buffs rather than fixing anything broken.

E1 is the first meaningful upgrade: a 60% teamwide Elation damage buff at four Elation characters, plus two revives. This beats the signature Light Cone for most players and is the recommended stopping point for anyone who wants to invest further.

E2 adds 15% teamwide Elation damage on top of action advance to the entire party, and doubles the Certified Banger and Punchline the extra-turn ally receives. A noticeable power spike.

E6 turns Pearl into a damage contributor, making her enhanced attacks hit for 240% of her archetype ally's stats and granting 20% Resistance Penetration to the team during her follow-up turns.

For the vast majority of players: E0, with E1 as a comfort upgrade if you have the resources.

Is Pearl worth pulling in Version 4.6?

Here's the short answer: yes, if you have an Elation team. No, if you don't.

Pearl solves a real problem. The Elation path previously had strong DPS options but lacked a sustainer built specifically around its mechanics. Pearl fills that gap completely, combining healing, damage mitigation, SP generation, and turn manipulation into a single slot. In full Elation compositions, she makes the team near-unkillable while actively contributing to its damage cycle.

Outside Elation, she's a capable healer who doesn't justify her Stellar Jade cost over characters with broader utility. If your roster is still building toward a first Elation core, save your pulls. Pearl runs the full Version 4.6 window, so there's no pressure to decide immediately.

FAQ

Does Pearl work outside Elation teams?

Yes, but she loses most of her unique value. Her healing and damage mitigation still function, but the action advance, Elation damage buffs, and extra-turn mechanic all depend on Elation teammates. She becomes a solid but unspectacular healer in non-Elation compositions.

Should you pull Pearl's signature Light Cone?

Skip it. Mushy Shroomy's Adventures at S5 closes most of the gap, and if you're going to spend extra resources on Pearl, E1 provides more total value than the signature Light Cone.

How much Speed does Pearl need?

160+ Speed is a practical target for most players. Optimized builds push toward 180-190, but that requires heavy substat investment. Prioritize Speed over Defense once you hit the 3,000 DEF baseline.

What weekly boss drops does Pearl need for Traces?

Pearl's Trace materials require Auspice Sliver, which drops from the weekly boss Shadow of Feixiao and Ecliptic Inner Beast in the Echo of War: Inner Beast's Battlefield on the Skysplitter in Xianzhou Luofu. Her Skill and Ultimate Traces also require Tracks of Destiny at higher levels, available from the Simulated Universe point rewards, the Nameless Honor Battle Pass at levels 15 and 35, and the Embers and Starlight Exchange shops.
