The Cryo Archive ARG is already pulling the Marathon community in, and it didn't take long for players to start hunting down the mysterious terminals scattered across the Perimeter map. These devices were sitting dormant at launch, but after a post-launch update flipped them on, they started broadcasting cryptic footage and hidden clues tied to the Cryo Archive storyline. There are six terminals in total, each tucked inside buildings and corridors that are easy to walk right past.
What Are the Cryo Archive ARG Terminals?
Before jumping into directions, it helps to understand what you're actually looking for. The Cryo Archive ARG terminals are wall-mounted interactive devices found exclusively on the Perimeter map. They are not tied to any standard mission objective or contract.
When you activate one, the terminal displays:
- Surveillance footage with cryptic visual content
- Encoded messages hinting at future story developments
- Fragments connected to the broader Cryo Archive narrative
The Cryo Archive itself appears to reference a facility aboard the UESC Marathon ship orbiting Tau Ceti IV, suggesting these terminals are teasing content that hasn't fully arrived yet. The community is still actively decoding what it all means, so every terminal you find contributes to the collective effort.
Terminal positions are fixed across all runs, so the locations in this guide will always be accurate regardless of when you drop into the Perimeter.

Where Are All 6 Cryo Archive Terminal Locations?
All six terminals sit within the Perimeter map. Here's a quick reference before the detailed walkthrough:
The terminals all share the same visual design. Once you spot your first one, recognizing the others becomes much faster on subsequent runs.
How to Find Every Terminal: Step-by-Step Directions
South Relay Terminal
The South Relay terminal is one of the more straightforward finds. Head to the South Relay area and look for a white building in the relay compound. Walk inside, take the stairs up to the first floor, pass through the door at the top, and turn left. Move straight down the hallway and you'll spot the terminal mounted directly on the office wall.

Station Terminal
The Station terminal hides inside an orange-and-white building at the Station landmark. Stand at the building entrance and walk straight ahead toward a walkway that leads to a UESC comms tower. Head through the door, continue forward past several cylindrical containers, and the terminal will be waiting further inside the structure. It's easy to miss because it sits behind those containers rather than near the entrance.
North Relay Terminal
Head to the North Relay area on the northern side of the Perimeter. You'll find an isolated building at the marked position. Step inside and immediately turn left. The terminal is mounted on the wall right there, making this one of the quickest grabs on the map.
Data Wall Terminal
The Data Wall is the most navigation-intensive stop. Enter through any of the available entry points and locate the stairs. You need to climb all the way to the third floor. Once there, orient yourself facing west on the compass. To your right, you'll see a small room with an open doorway. The terminal sits inside that room.
The Data Wall has multiple levels and similar-looking corridors. If you're getting turned around, use the compass to confirm you're facing west before looking for the side room.
Hauler Terminal
At the Hauler, your destination is the Research Lab on the upper floor. Once you reach the lab, look along the west wall and you'll find the terminal positioned there. The Research Lab is the key landmark, so focus on getting to that room first before scanning the walls.
Overflow Terminal
The Overflow terminal is the most tucked-away of the six. Navigate to the Overflow section of the Perimeter and find the small shack at the marked position on the map. Step inside the shack and the terminal will be right there. The surrounding area has several similar-looking structures, so check the smaller standalone shack rather than the larger facility buildings.
