Mixtape Review – Annapurna Interactive ...

Mixtape is one of those rare games where the Platinum trophy feels like a reward rather than a chore. Developed by Beethoven & Dinosaur, Mixtape clocks in at three to four hours per playthrough and packs 27 trophies on PlayStation (26 achievements on Xbox and Steam, since there's no Platinum equivalent on those platforms). The list leans on minigame performance and thorough bedroom exploration, not grinding or missable collectibles buried in open-world corners.

The smartest approach, as usual with games like Mixtape, is to enjoy your first run blind. This is a narrative-driven game about three teens spending their last night of high school together, and it deserves to land without a checklist in your peripheral vision. Then hit New Game again, follow this guide, and you'll have that Platinum in no time.

How many trophies does Mixtape have?

There are 27 trophies on PlayStation, including the Platinum titled The Sound of the Future. Xbox and Steam have 26 achievements since neither platform has a Platinum equivalent. The bulk of the list splits into two categories: story trophies that unlock automatically as you progress, and performance-based trophies tied to the game's minigame segments. Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution.

Unmissable story trophies

Four trophies pop just by completing the game's chapters. You cannot miss these.

  • Goodbye, Stacey's Room – Complete all memories in Rockford's room
  • Matching the Drapes – Complete all memories in Cassandra's room
  • Eight Minute Odyssey – Complete all memories in Slater's room
  • Last Song – Complete the game

What is the Front to Back trophy, and how do you get it?

Front to Back is the most time-consuming trophy in Mixtape. The requirement is to find every interactive object in each bedroom and exhaust every unique conversation with Cassandra and Slater. The key rule: let one dialogue string finish completely before touching another object, or it won't register.

You'll know an interaction has counted when the interact icon changes to a dotted line.

Tips for the trickier trophies

How do you get the French Connection trophy?

In chapter The Kiss, you need to hold the kiss for a full 60 seconds. The trophy won't pop until you press 'that's enough', so set a timer on your phone before you start. Sixty seconds of cringe, one trophy earned.

How do you get the Instructions Not Required trophy?

In Cassandra's House, flip the Minimaster over by holding R2 and dragging it. Open the battery slot, pick up the batteries with R2, insert them, flip it back over, and turn it on. The whole sequence needs to land in under 15 seconds. Practice the motion once mentally before you start the interaction.

How do you get the Skim Gordon trophy?

In Skipping Stones, aim directly for the centre of the tyre swing and hold R2 to charge your throw. There's no penalty for missing, so keep trying until it connects.

How do you get the Appetite for Destruction trophy?

During Skateboard Explosion, objects are highlighted on both sides of you as you skate. Press L2 for items on your left and R2 for items on your right. The trophy unlocks when you reach the giant gumball machine at the end of the run.

How do you get the Tapehead Graveyard trophy?

In Starlight Video, walk into the VHS shelves repeatedly to knock tapes off. You need 200 total, which sounds like a lot, but the store has plenty of shelves. Keep lapping the room until the trophy pops. The Doppelbanger trophy is in the same chapter, so knock over every cardboard cutout while you're in there.

How do you get the Fight For Your Right trophy?

In Party at the Ritz, you're walking around filming with a camcorder as Slater. Accept every item that party guests offer you. Make sure you cover the entire party area without skipping anyone.
