At HR41+, Endless Sky, Endless Sea is the Armor Sphere farm to prioritize in Monster Hunter Wilds. It rewards both Hard and Heavy Armor Spheres, while its monster drops give you more materials to recycle afterward. Below that rank, Tongue-Tied offers an easier repeat hunt, and the Smelting Foundry turns surplus parts into more spheres. The efficient approach is to combine quest rewards with smelting, while keeping rare crafting materials out of the furnace.

Which Armor Sphere farm should you use?

Choose your route around your Hunter Rank and inventory. Endless Sky, Endless Sea is the strongest dedicated quest option, but a visit to Roqul makes more sense when you already have spare monster materials sitting in storage.

Why are Heavy Armor Spheres valuable?

A Heavy Armor Sphere is a Rarity 8 material worth 5,000 armor upgrade points. You use Armor Spheres at the Smithy to upgrade armor and increase its Defense. Basic spheres suit Low Rank equipment, while Heavy Armor Spheres are better saved for High Rank and endgame pieces.

How do you turn monster parts into Armor Spheres?

The Smelting Foundry unlocks after your first Nu Udra defeat in Chapter 2-4. You can then visit Roqul in Azuz, near the Oilwell Basin base camp, and convert materials into Armor Spheres.

  • Finish the Chapter 2-4 Nu Udra encounter.
  • Return to the Smelting Foundry in Oilwell Basin.
  • Select the materials you want to consume.
  • Convert surplus common parts, keeping materials needed for equipment.

Which monster materials are worth smelting?

Gogmazios common materials offer the highest points per part among these options. Arkveld is the more practical repeat-hunt recommendation because its fight is shorter than Gogmazios or Omega Planetes, while common parts still provide roughly 120 points each.

MonsterSmelting points per common part
GogmaziosApproximately 140-150
Omega PlanetesApproximately 130
Zoh ShiaApproximately 120
ArkveldApproximately 120
Jin DahaadApproximately 120
LagiacrusApproximately 110
SeregiosApproximately 110

These values cover common materials, excluding gems and other rare drops. Smelting conversion rates have changed with patches, so check the conversion preview before spending your stockpile.

For a repeatable material route, hunt Arkveld in The Chains of Life. Lagiacrus in The Sea-Born Lord and Seregios in 1,000 Shimmering Swords are useful alternatives when you prefer those fights or need their materials anyway.

Repeat Arkveld for common materials

Armor Transcendence gives you another reason to protect rare materials instead of chasing their smelting value. For that upgrade system and Gogmazios progression, use the Update 4 armor and weapon upgrade guide.

How do you farm Endless Sky, Endless Sea?

Endless Sky, Endless Sea requires HR41+ and features Lagiacrus and Rathalos. Its Hard and Heavy Armor Sphere rewards make it the best dedicated sphere quest to repeat once you meet the rank requirement.

Only Lagiacrus is present at the start. Focus on that opening fight, then use the arena gate if Rathalos arrives before you finish. The lever raises the barrier, letting you separate the monsters rather than handle both together.

What should you bring?

Build your preparation around the two targets rather than bringing an unrelated farming setup:

  • Fire weapon: Recommended against Lagiacrus.
  • Dragon weapon: Recommended against Rathalos.
  • Paralysis weapon: A status alternative that creates attack openings by temporarily immobilizing monsters.
  • Shock Trap and Pitfall Trap: Useful for holding monsters in place or capturing them.
  • Flash Pods: Help bring Rathalos down while it is airborne.

After completing Endless Sky, Endless Sea, keep any monster materials you still need and take the surplus to Roqul. That combines direct Armor Sphere rewards with a second supply earned through smelting.

What can you farm before HR41?

Tongue-Tied is the standout lower-rank option because its target, Chatacabra, is easier to handle. It requires HR21+ and rewards Advanced and Hard Armor Spheres, making it a useful stepping stone before the Lagiacrus and Rathalos quest.

Tongue-TiedHR21+Advanced and Hard Armor Spheres

All four of these Armor Sphere event quests are permanently available. Pick Careening Out of Control for early access, Tongue-Tied for an easier repeat target, or Endless Sky, Endless Sea once you can farm its higher-tier rewards.

How can you earn spheres while farming other rewards?

Save useful Investigations

High-level Investigations let you collect Armor Spheres while pursuing Decorations or Artian Weapon parts. Save useful quests and check their rewards, particularly at 7-star and 8-star difficulty, where higher-tier spheres can appear.

Armor Sphere typeInvestigation difficulty
Advanced Armor Sphere4-star to 5-star
Hard Armor Sphere6-star to 9-star
Heavy Armor Sphere7-star to 9-star

At HR100+, 9-star monsters can appear across all locales. Introduced in Ver. 1.021, these monsters are always Tempered and have increased health and damage. Their main reward is Glowing Stones, with Hard and Heavy Armor Spheres providing extra value alongside them.

Match hunts to Limited Bounties

Visit the Support Desk at a base camp or the Grand Hub and select View/Complete Limited Bounties. Prioritize objectives that reward Heavy Armor Spheres, then look for hunts that satisfy more than one active bounty.

A 9-star event quest, for example, can count toward both an event-quest objective and a requirement to complete a quest rated 9-star or higher. Check the refresh timer as well, since bounty schedules differ during festivals.

Are trades and login bonuses worthwhile?

Gawdygog trades Armor Spheres for Ancient Wyvern Coins, but the coins are difficult to farm. One offer exchanges 5 coins for 2 Advanced Armor Spheres, with a trade limit of 2. Dedicated event quests and smelting are better choices for sustained farming.

Sekka can exchange 1 Nightflower Pollen for 3 Hard Armor Spheres, with a trade limit of 1. Once you reach High Rank, Nata can handle item trades at your tent, though the available offers change randomly.

Regular main, side, and extra missions also provide Armor Spheres, and login bonuses can add more. Collect those while progressing, then switch to Tongue-Tied or Endless Sky, Endless Sea when armor upgrades become your immediate goal.

How should you manage your Armor Sphere supply?

Treat this RPG upgrade loop as a material budget: reserve rare drops for crafting and Armor Transcendence, then convert spare common parts into Armor Spheres. Roqul is most useful when you know which materials you can afford to lose.

Use basic Armor Spheres on Low Rank gear and reserve Heavy Armor Spheres for High Rank or endgame armor. Before smelting, check the materials needed for your next weapon or armor piece so a short-term sphere shortage does not create another crafting grind.

For repeat sessions, choose Tongue-Tied at HR21+ or Endless Sky, Endless Sea at HR41+, check matching Limited Bounties, and smelt surplus drops afterward. At HR100+, fold 9-star hunts into that routine when you also want their endgame rewards.

Start with the farm your rank supports, then use the Monster Hunter Wilds guide collection to plan the equipment and progression goals your Armor Spheres will support.
