Pixelcraft Studios has launched the mainnet for Geist, a gaming-focused blockchain built for the Aavegotchi ecosystem. The move marks a significant infrastructure upgrade, shifting away from Polygon to deliver faster transaction speeds, lower fees, and a tighter integration across Aavegotchi's expanding suite of games. Geist positions itself as a "members-only" blockchain, designed to cultivate a dedicated player base with exclusive rewards, NFTs, and cross-game asset compatibility.

What is Geist?
Geist runs on Arbitrum's Orbit technology, settling transactions on Base, a layer-2 network. Alchemy's rollup infrastructure powers the backend, enabling sub-second transaction finality and near-zero gas fees. The result is a blockchain optimized for real-time game interactions, where latency and cost can make or break the player experience.
Exclusive perks for early adopters
At launch, Geist users can mint the MAINNET NFT, the first entry in the Geist Milestones collection. This commemorative piece marks the blockchain's debut and serves as a collectible for those who were there from the start. Players can also claim unique Geist IDs, which unlock access to exclusive features and community perks within the Aavegotchi universe.
Migrating assets from Polygon
Aavegotchi originally launched on Polygon, with its earliest NFTs minted on Ethereum. Starting in November, users can migrate their assets to Geist. The Aavegotchi Baazaar marketplace will continue supporting Polygon-based assets, so players can trade and manage their collections across both chains without friction.

What's next for the ecosystem
The Geist mainnet is the foundation for a broader expansion. Pixelcraft Studios plans to roll out a rewards program that incentivizes active participation, alongside GOTCHI points, a cross-game currency that will work across multiple Aavegotchi titles. The Aavegotchi Gaming Console will also migrate to Geist, aligning the platform's core hub with the new blockchain's performance capabilities.
New games and developer partnerships
Geist will host upcoming releases like Rektless and the 3D version of Gotchiverse, which enters soft launch soon. These titles are designed to demonstrate what Geist can handle in terms of immersive gameplay and real-time responsiveness. Pixelcraft has opened Geist as an open-source protocol, inviting other web3 developers to build on the chain. Several studios have already signed on to explore Geist as a foundation for their own blockchain-based projects.

Final thoughts
Geist represents a clear bet on performance and community focus. By prioritizing speed, affordability, and interoperability, Pixelcraft is positioning Aavegotchi as a serious contender in the web3 gaming space. With new games, rewards, and asset migration tools now live, the ecosystem has the infrastructure to support a more cohesive and scalable player experience.
