The ALLfiring companion meta has settled enough to call it: three units sit comfortably at the top of the pile, and the rest fall into a pretty clear pecking order. If you're about to spend 160 emberite on a limited banner pull, you'll want to know whether that character is worth the investment before the animation plays.
This is a mobile gacha game set in Hain City, and like every gacha worth its salt, the gap between a well-built roster and a thrown-together one is significant. The tier list below covers every companion currently available, spanning support, assault, and mixed unit types across four tiers.
The S-tier trio pulling ahead of the pack
Three companions land in S tier right now: Felgia, Khronos, and Islcha. As six-star units, they perform at the ceiling of what the current meta allows, and if any of them appear on a limited banner, that's generally a pull worth making. The key here is that each brings something different to a team comp, so they're not redundant if you happen to collect more than one.
What most players miss is that S tier in a gacha doesn't always mean "must pull at any cost." If none of these three align with your preferred playstyle, the A tier is deep enough to carry you through most content.
A and B tier: where most players will land
The A-tier roster is the largest in the game right now, with five companions making the cut: Rozeul, Jallest, Hilstchtia, Nafia, and Garcia. That's a solid spread of unit types, meaning you can build a well-rounded team entirely from this tier without touching S tier at all.
B tier holds Nayeh, Fischer, and Kirika. These three aren't bad, they're just outpaced by the options above them. In earlier stages of the game or while building toward better pulls, they'll do the job.

C tier and the case for playing your way
Herwfin, Sion, and Yousel round out the bottom of the list at C tier. They're the units most players will bench once better options arrive, but here's the thing: if one of them clicks with how you actually play, don't let a tier list talk you out of it. Gacha games reward consistent play more than chasing the meta, especially at the casual end of the difficulty curve.
Five-star companions generally underperform compared to six-stars in ALLfiring, so prioritize six-star pulls when you have the resources.
How the pull system works
After completing the tutorial, the board game tab at the top of the screen is where all pulling happens. The limited banner sits front and center, with the standard banner tucked in the tab below it. Limited pulls cost 160 emberite each, while the standard banner runs on stardust. The game does let you convert between currencies at a one-to-one rate, which is a small but useful flexibility if you're short on one and flush with the other.
For players building out their first roster, the standard banner is a reasonable place to start farming before committing emberite to a limited character.
