Season 3 of Battlefield 6 is live, and the Warlords: Supremacy update brings three new weapons and three new attachments for players to chase down. None of them require a paid battle pass, but knowing exactly where to look saves a lot of time.

Season 3 battle pass tiers

Season 3 battle pass tiers

Three guns, three different battle pass sections

All three new weapons sit in the free tiers of the Season 3 battle pass, but they're spread across different sections. The L115 bolt-action sniper rifle unlocks first, found in the initial "Recruit" section that every player works through at the start. It's built for long-range engagements and is the most straightforward of the three to pick up.

The M16A4 assault rifle, the classic returning to the franchise, lives in the "Tiger Shark" section of the pass. This one supports both full-auto and burst-fire, making it a flexible option for short-to-mid-range play. The RPK-74M light machine gun rounds out the trio, tucked into the "Warlord Hunters" section. It trades raw damage for minimal recoil, which makes it more useful at range than most LMGs.

Once players clear the initial Recruit path, they can choose which section of the battle pass to pursue next. So if the RPK-74M is the priority, you can head straight to Warlord Hunters without grinding through Tiger Shark first.

The attachment chain in the Challenges tab

The three new attachments work differently. They're not in the battle pass at all. Instead, they live under the Seasonal Challenges section of Battlefield 6's Challenges menu, and they unlock in a strict sequence.

Here's the order and what each challenge requires:

  • Burst Mode (first): Get 40 kills with Carbines or SMG weapons. Removes full-auto in favor of burst fire. Compatible with the M16A4 and many other automatic weapons.
  • Aftermarket Buffer (second): Unlocks after completing Burst Mode. Get 40 kills with assault rifles or DMRs. Reduces visual flinch and recoil effects rather than the recoil itself.
  • Speed Holster (third): Unlocks after completing both previous challenges. Get 10 kills with sidearms. Improves weapon draw speed and works with most sidearms.

The kill counts are modest, but the sequential gating means you can't skip ahead. Start with the Carbine and SMG challenge as early as possible if the Speed Holster is what you're actually after.

Missed earlier seasons?

There's still a path back

Players who skipped previous seasons aren't locked out of older weapons and attachments. EA has moved past-season content into the Challenges tab, where each item gets its own unlock challenge. It's a cleaner system than letting content disappear behind a time gate, and it means the full arsenal stays accessible regardless of when someone jumped in.

Season 3 follows the same three-phase rollout structure used in prior seasons. This first phase, Warlords: Supremacy, also introduces the Railway to Golmud multiplayer map alongside the weapon additions.

For players looking to build out their loadouts beyond the new arrivals, our Battlefield 6 ultimate weapon guide covers class synergies and meta builds across the full arsenal. Our Season 3 release date and start times guide has the full global rollout breakdown if you need confirmation the update is live in your region.
