Aniimo has surpassed 15 million players worldwide, with Season 1 Part 2 going live on October 29, 2026. Named Departure with the Wind: Part 2, the update gives creature collectors new territory to search and new catches to chase.
Pawprint Studio announced the milestone following the free-to-play open-world action RPG's global launch on September 16. Its exploration loop combines real-time creature battles with Twining, a system that lets players merge with an Aniimo to access different abilities and perspectives. The update puts more creatures and places into that mix.
Whisperwake Isles expands the hunt
Whisperwake Isles introduces new storylines across four explorable areas: Crescent Bay, Rosy Mirelands, Wildwater Gorge, and Cloudreach Falls. Together, they provide the setting for the update's new ecosystems and discoveries.
The headline number for collectors is 51 new Aniimo, including 32 new species. Bubbeep, Saws, Prawnch, and Sugarfish are among the additions. For players deciding which catches deserve upgrade materials, the Aniimo Potential guide explains how to assess the creatures joining their collection.
One newcomer has a different origin: Jaguaraun was created through the first Aniimo Co-Dev Contest.
The update also introduces 10 new Prismana Aniimo. Whisperwake Isles has its own exclusive creatures, including Prismana Gachapus, Prismana Whirlbite, Prismana Sugartini, Prismana Jabster, Prismana Royalby, and Prismana Glameep.
Friendly Sparring arrives alongside Halloween events
Catching isn't the only activity getting attention. Friendly Sparring adds 1v1 PvP duels, letting players challenge each other directly and put their creatures to the test.
The seasonal additions also include:
- Night Parade and Magical Night Halloween events, featuring activities, challenges, and rewards.
- A new Halloween-themed season for the Home system, with seasonal layouts and recipes.
- Themed outfits and weekly fashion releases for character customization.
Aniimo is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also claim an exclusive monthly Aniimo reward pack.
