Boss Fighters, a free-to-play arena combat game, launched its Economy Test on November 14, 2024, giving players early access to the game's economic systems. This test lets players earn proxy BFT tokens—which convert to real tokens later—and unlock gear that carries over into the full release.
The game matches a four-player team against a player-controlled giant mech, mixing fast-paced combat with player-driven economic mechanics. Built with eSports in mind, Boss Fighters is testing how competitive gaming and tokenized economies can work together.

About Boss Fighters
Boss Fighters is an asynchronous arena combat game where four Fighters take on a Boss—a massive enemy controlled by another player. The Boss can demolish buildings and hurl debris, while Fighters use grappling hooks, rockets, and other equipment to survive and strike back.
The Boss role supports VR, which adds a more immersive perspective. Each season brings new gear and cosmetics, and players can mint items as NFTs to keep them across seasons.

BFT Tokens and FLEX
Earning BFT tokens during the Economy Test requires equipping Badges, which are crafted and recharged using Showrunner Contracts. Showrunner Contracts are NFTs that generate Badges and can be bought on the Open Loot marketplace or obtained from lootboxes.
Players can equip up to five Badges, though unlocking slots beyond the first costs FLEX, one of the game's three currencies. Badges let players earn proxy BFT tokens, which convert to real BFT later. Token earnings scale with:
- Upgraded gear: Items with more Perks generate higher rewards.
- Merged items: Increasing rarity through merging boosts token bonuses.
- NFT skins: Character, weapon, and gear skins increase token earning potential.
FLEX can be purchased on Open Loot and used to unlock crafting and earning features. To encourage early participation, Boss Fighters added temporary boosts:
- First 24 hours: Badges recharge without needing Sponsor Marks.
- Faster crafting and recharge times: These will gradually normalize during the test.

Boss Fighters Economy Test Week 1
Leaderboard and Economy
Weekly leaderboards add another layer. In the first week, players who spend 6,200 Proxy BFT qualify for leaderboard rankings. Rankings are based on crafting and merging activity, with top players earning Showrunner Contracts and Sponsor Marks. Leaderboard rules will adjust after each round based on feedback. The Boss Fighters economy runs on three currencies and item types:
- Cash: Used for crafting and merging items.
- FLEX: Locks item Perks and manages Badge slots.
- BFT Tokens: The primary on-chain currency for crafting collectibles, buying Arena invites, and future airdrops.
BFT has a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens, distributed primarily through gameplay. Boss Fighters integrates with web3 through Open Loot, so players don't need a separate wallet. Players can buy and sell digital collectibles like character, weapon, and Boss skins directly on the platform. These skins are cosmetic only and don't affect gameplay balance.

Boss Fighters' Economy Test is an early look at how the game plans to merge competitive combat with a tokenized economy. By layering traditional gaming elements with web3 mechanics, the game is positioning itself for both casual players and competitive audiences who want more control over their in-game assets.
