The Criterion Collection has officially announced this 30-disc set collecting all 13 of Stanley Kubrick's feature-length films in 4K restoration, alongside his three early short films. It releases October 20 at $599.95, though an early sale price of $479.96 is currently live.

What two decades of scattered releases finally become
For years, Kubrick's filmography existed across a patchwork of different labels, transfers, and disc formats. Some titles got stellar 4K treatment; others languished in outdated editions. The Complete Kubrick resolves that in one shot. The key here is that two films, Lolita and Eyes Wide Shut, had never received a 4K release in the United States before this collection. The bonus content is where Criterion earns its reputation. The set includes 25 hours of interviews, documentaries, and behind-the-scenes materials. New commentary tracks come from Kubrick experts Michael Benson and Lee Unkrich, the latter being the Pixar director and longtime Kubrick obsessive whose deep knowledge of The Shining is well documented.
Some of the extras are genuinely rare. Unseen screen tests from Lolita and behind-the-scenes footage from Full Metal Jacket production have not been widely available before. The set also includes the international cut of The Shining, which runs 20 minutes shorter than the American version, and a 4K restoration of Vivian Kubrick's behind-the-scenes documentary Making "The Shining."
Physical packaging includes photographs, artwork, and documents annotated by Kubrick himself, plus an essay from critic Nathaniel Rich.

At $599.95, the math works out to roughly $46 per feature film before factoring in the shorts and bonus content. That number has already sparked debate among collectors, with some pointing out that the 4K restoration work and curation that goes into a Criterion release justifies the premium, while others see it as steep for films that can be streamed or purchased individually.
