Cyberpunk 2077 Neon Streets: 4K Ultra ...

"We have no plans for additional DLCs or expansions. If anything changes, we will inform you all!"

That's the official word from the Cyberpunk 2077 social media account, shutting down speculation about future post-launch content. CD Projekt has drawn a clear line: what's available in Night City right now is the complete package, at least for the time being.

CD Projekt Closes the Door on Night City DLC

The announcement came as a direct reply to a fan question on social media, where the official Cyberpunk 2077 account confirmed "no plans" exist for more downloadable content or expansions. The team left a narrow opening, saying they'll inform players if plans shift. But this isn't new ground. Back in early 2024, the game's director made similar statements, essentially declaring the project complete while leaving room for small patches.

This lines up with earlier indications that another Cyberpunk expansion was once in the works but got scrapped before any public reveal.

Anyone waiting for another major story chapter like Phantom Liberty can stop waiting. The Ultimate Edition, which packages the base game with Phantom Liberty, is the final, complete version of Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt.

What This Means for Cyberpunk Fans

For players still roaming Night City, the current content is substantial. Phantom Liberty brought a spy-thriller storyline set in the new Dogtown district, and the base game has been patched and updated for years, transforming it from its rough launch state into something far more stable.

What's clear is that CD Projekt has moved on. The studio confirmed a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel entered pre-production, meaning the team's focus is on what comes next, not extending the life of the current game.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition includes the base game and Phantom Liberty
  • A Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is in pre-production at CD Projekt
  • No timeline exists for the sequel's development or release
  • Small patches and minor updates may still happen, based on previous developer comments

A Long Road From Launch to Legacy

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way. The game launched in December 2020 to major backlash, with performance problems on last-gen consoles leading Sony to temporarily remove it from the PlayStation Store. Years of patches followed, eventually restoring the game's reputation and setting the stage for Phantom Liberty in 2023.

More recently, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition launched on Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2025, arriving alongside that console's release. The port delivered the full experience to a new audience on Nintendo hardware.

CD Projekt seems content to leave Cyberpunk 2077 at its current high point while building toward the sequel. Fans of the franchise should watch for future announcements, but V's story in Night City is over.
