The Militech "Apogee" Sandevistan is the best offensive choice in Cyberpunk 2077. You can buy it from any Ripperdoc at level 40, and its 85% time slowdown makes lining up headshots or closing into blade range much easier. Kills extend its active duration and restore Stamina, rewarding you for staying aggressive. Before level 40, Dynalar provides an early starting point, while Militech "Falcon" offers a strong upgrade at level 30. Your choice comes down to availability, Cyberware Capacity, and how you want to fight.

Where can you get a Sandevistan?

Visit a Ripperdoc and check the Operating System category. Night City Ripperdocs share their standard inventory, with availability tied to your character level. You do not need to cross the city looking for a particular vendor to buy Apogee once you reach level 40.

The first Sandevistan purchases become available at level 10. Dynalar is the straightforward starting option, while Zetatech suits a more airborne approach. Falcon arrives at level 30 and introduces activation at partial charge, a substantial improvement in how freely you can use slow motion.

The capacity figures above describe the models before build-specific reductions. Purchase tiers progress with your level: Tier 2 starts at level 10, Tier 3 at level 20, Tier 4 at level 30, and Tier 5 at level 40.

What is the best Sandevistan?

Apogee wins for offense because its 85% slowdown combines with headshot and critical-hit bonuses, then rewards each kill with more active time and Stamina. That combination works particularly well with revolvers and blades: you get time to place shots or reach enemies, and successful attacks help keep the sequence going.

Apogee versus Falcon

Falcon remains a worthwhile alternative. Its 39 capacity cost is lower than Apogee's 44, its base duration is longer, and kills restore Health. Choose it when you value that sustain or need to save capacity for another implant.

Capacity cost4439

Apogee's 6-second duration is the base figure. Its Reflexes attunement adds 0.1 seconds per attribute point, and Extended Warranty increases cyberware effect duration by 15%. Your equipped duration can therefore exceed the base value before kill extensions enter the picture.

When should you use the other models?

Dynalar costs 18 capacity and provides 50% slowdown at Tier 5, alongside +15% Crit Chance and +15% Crit Damage. It is a sensible starting point when your cyberware budget is still small.

Zetatech is more specialized. At Tier 5, its slowdown increases from 30% on the ground to 60% in midair, with airborne bonuses including +24% damage and +40% headshot and weakspot damage. Air Dash gives you more opportunities to use that airborne benefit.

QianT "Warp Dancer" takes a defensive direction. Its Tier 5 version slows time by 20% but adds +24% Mitigation Chance, +12% Mitigation Strength, and 50% resistance to Thermal, Chemical, and Electrical damage. The 14 capacity cost is attractive, but its 70-second cooldown makes it a poor substitute for Apogee's frequent offensive bursts.

How does Sandevistan work?

A Sandevistan slows the world around you on command, giving you more time to aim, move between targets, and attack. Unlike Kerenzikov, its activation does not depend on aiming during a slide, dodge, or Dash.

The 2.0 system lets you deactivate any Sandevistan before its charge runs out. Ending the effect early means a shorter recharge than exhausting it completely. Falcon and Apogee go further by allowing activation at any charge level, so you can use short bursts instead of waiting for a full refill.

Installing Sandevistan replaces your cyberdeck in the operating-system slot. If quickhacking matters more to your combat plan than slow motion, compare the alternatives in the best cyberdeck stats and locations guide before committing to this route.

Which weapons work best with Sandevistan?

Revolvers, high-powered single-shot guns, and blades make particularly good partners. Slow motion gives you time to place a damaging shot, while melee attacks benefit strongly from the difference between your movement and the slowed enemies around you.

Automatic weapons still work, but Sandevistan does not simply multiply their programmed firing rates. An assault rifle can feel sluggish during activation because the gun cannot fire as quickly as you might expect. A revolver headshot or a fast blade combo makes better use of that window.

  • Byakko: A katana that lets you leap toward enemies. A kill temporarily enables a rapid attack combo, fitting Apogee's emphasis on consecutive kills.
  • Thermal Mantis Blades: Deal Thermal damage and can set enemies on fire. They also support a dedicated Phantom Liberty Relic investment.
  • Archangel: A base-game Power Revolver suited to the headshot-focused approach.
  • Ol' Reliable: A Phantom Liberty revolver option with additional Crit Damage benefits tied to headshots.
  • Overwatch: Panam's silenced sniper rifle, awarded at the end of Riders on the Storm, for a long-range Sandevistan setup.

Byakko rewards aggressive kills

Pariah is another option if you prefer a Tech Pistol, but obtaining it depends on a late Phantom Liberty choice. Plan that decision with the ending choices and unlocks guide before pursuing the weapon.

Which attributes and perks should you prioritize?

For a hybrid blade-and-revolver setup, invest early in Reflexes and Cool, then develop Technical Ability for cyberware and Body for survival. Intelligence can remain at 3 because this version of the build does not use quickhacks or specialize in Smart weapons.

Progression targetBodyReflexesTechnical AbilityIntelligenceCool
Level 1069439
Level 50, base game151820315
Level 60, Phantom Liberty182020320

The level 60 spread supports both weapon styles rather than forcing you into a pure melee or sniper setup. The base game's level cap is 50; Phantom Liberty raises it to 60.

Build around these perk branches

  • Reflexes: Prioritize Dash, Air Dash, Lead and Steel, and Finisher: Bladerunner for movement and blade combat. Flash and Thunderclap requires Mad Dash and Seeing Double.
  • Cool: Develop Focus and Deadeye, then add supporting perks such as High Noon, California Reaper, and Rinse and Reload for your ranged weapon.
  • Technical Ability: Work toward License to Chrome, Extended Warranty, and Edgerunner. Ticking Time Bomb adds an EMP effect associated with operating-system activation.
  • Body: Take Painkiller and build toward Adrenaline Rush, with Juggernaut and Unstoppable Force supporting you during its active window.

Build mobility through Reflexes

Edgerunner lets you exceed Cyberware Capacity by up to 50 points, but each excess point reduces Max Health by 0.5%. That is a real cost for a build that fights in blade range, so support it with Body investment and healing rather than treating extra capacity as free.

What changes with Phantom Liberty?

For Mantis Blades, prioritize Jailbreak, then Spatial Mapping. These expand your leap and dismemberment options. Emergency Cloaking supports an Optical Camo escape, while Vulnerability Analytics gives your weapons additional targets on enemy armor and cyberware.

Open Skill Progression to track Shinobi, too. Its level 60 reward grants +40% Crit Chance and removes movement Stamina costs while Sandevistan is active. Blade combat, dashing, sliding, and vaulting all contribute to Shinobi progression.

What cyberware should support your Sandevistan?

Choose supporting implants around your main weapon and your available capacity. Reinforced Tendons helps you reach elevated enemies, Microrotors supports melee pressure, and Shock Absorber suits a gun-heavy setup. These are options to prioritize, not a promise that every implant fits at once.

Shock AbsorberReduced recoilRevolver and rifle handling

AxolotlInstantly reduces all cyberware cooldowns by 7.5% after a neutralizationHigh-capacity endgame setups

Axolotl is powerful but expensive at 48 capacity, more than Apogee itself. You can obtain it through Regina Jones's Last Call reward, or through Dogtown Ripperdocs and airdrops. Fit the operating system and your essential survival tools before spending that much capacity on cooldown recovery.

Axolotl trades capacity for uptime

For close-range defense, Proxishield reduces incoming damage more strongly against nearby attackers, reaching 20% reduction at 3 meters in its Tier 5 description. Blood Pump is another useful survival option, restoring Health immediately and then over time.

How do you avoid wasting Sandevistan charge?

Treat Apogee as a tool for specific attacks and movement, rather than a mode that must stay active for an entire encounter. Its partial-charge activation makes a brief headshot opportunity worth taking even when the meter is not full.

  1. Choose your opening target. Use the slowdown to line up a revolver headshot or close into blade range.
  2. Secure the neutralization. Apogee rewards the kill with extended duration and +22% Stamina.
  3. Move directly to the next attack. Byakko's leap, Mantis Blades, Dash, and Air Dash support that transition.
  4. Deactivate when the useful window ends. Preserve charge instead of spending it after your immediate targets are down.
  5. Use your survival tools when needed. Adrenaline Rush, healing cyberware, and Optical Camo support the moments when slow motion is unavailable.

Choose Apogee for offensive kill chains, or keep Falcon if its healing and lower capacity cost better suit your setup. Build around the weapons you actually use, and spend charge on attacks or positioning that matter. For your next upgrade, browse the Cyberpunk 2077 guide collection.
