French independent studio Unexpected and publisher Goblinz Publishing have announced that Deified, a turn-based tactical roguelite built around relic synergies and strategic slot management, will launch on Steam on September 21, 2026.
Deified will be priced at $14.99 / €14.99, with a 20% launch discount available during its first two weeks. The game puts players in control of Sator, who must confront the Lords responsible for corrupting the Gold of the Rhine and turning it into powerful relics and eternal curses.
The campaign challenges players to defeat seven bosses, restore the Gold of the Rhine to its people, and develop strategies based on the relics collected throughout each run.
A Tactical Roguelite Built Around Relics
Relics are at the center of Deified's gameplay. Each relic provides unique abilities, while collecting relics of the same type allows players to create synergies that can strengthen their overall strategy.
Players can also restore relics by collecting multiple identical fragments. This system provides another way to improve artifacts and expand their effectiveness during a run.
Unlike many turn-based tactical games, Deified does not use mana, action points, or cooldowns. Players can therefore use their abilities every turn, with the game instead placing emphasis on decision-making and the way available relics and slots are managed.
Strategic Slot Management
Every relic requires a slot, making inventory and slot management an important part of each run. Each slot provides a specific bonus alongside a drawback, forcing players to consider how different combinations affect their strategy.
The system is designed to make relic selection more than a straightforward process of choosing the most powerful items. Players must consider how individual bonuses and penalties interact with their wider build and the relic synergies they are attempting to create.
Deified also features skill trees that allow players to develop their preferred strategies. New rooms can be unlocked during progression, providing additional options and helping to shape future runs.
Seven Bosses With Unique Curses
The game's seven bosses are designed to challenge established strategies through unique curses. These effects can disrupt a player's plans and require adjustments during tactical encounters.
As a result, players will need to adapt their relic combinations and slot setups rather than relying on a single strategy throughout the campaign.
The combination of turn-based combat, relic restoration, slot management, skill trees, and boss curses gives Deified a focus on planning and adapting between encounters.
