Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra's overhaul has been delayed to March 2027. The developers say they want to “reimagine” the four-on-four game, a team-focused entry in the same franchise as Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.

The stated goal is to deliver the “ultimate Dragon Ball team battle experience.”

Dragon Ball has experimented outside conventional duels before. Dragon Ball: The Breakers took inspiration from the Dead by Daylight formula, while Squadra built its identity around group battles.

Existing players are pushing back on the change

The Squadra overhaul had already drawn criticism before the postponement. Replies beneath the latest official announcement included requests to leave the game unchanged and objections describing the redesign as a bait-and-switch.

Some players asked the developers to leave the game unchanged, while others called the rework a bait-and-switch.

For players spending the wait with another Dragon Ball game, the Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero guide collection offers a separate set of resources.
