Esports Nations Cup 2026 Unveils Opening Game Lineup

The Esports World Cup Foundation has announced the opening eight titles for the inaugural Esports Nations Cup 2026. National teams will compete across 16 games in what represents a major expansion of the international esports calendar. Countries will field squads in mobile games, strategy titles, fighting games, racing sims, and shooters.

Mobile esports anchor this first wave of announcements. Honor of Kings will host 24 national squads, selected through the ENC National Team Ranking system and regional qualifying rounds. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang brings 32 nations into a round-robin group stage before advancing teams to playoff brackets during the event's closing week. The initial roster extends well beyond mobile. EA Sports FC will draw 128 players through a mix of open in-game tournaments, regional qualifiers, and invitations based on world rankings. Chess runs concurrently with Dota 2 from November 2 to 8, featuring 128 chess competitors and 32 Dota 2 national teams in parallel brackets.

Counter-Strike 2 plans the largest open qualification in the game's history, with over 15,000 players forming roughly 3,000 teams. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Trackmania round out the confirmed lineup, each bringing 32 national representatives. Eight more titles will be revealed over the next few weeks to complete the 16-game program.

Riyadh hosts month-long competition

The Esports Nations Cup 2026 takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 2 through November 29. The tournament positions national team play as a centerpiece of global esports, with qualification routes spanning rankings, regional events, and open competitions.

This structure lets the ENC accommodate diverse game types while maintaining competitive standards and worldwide access. By mixing mobile, PC, console, and traditional strategy games, the Esports Nations Cup 2026 aims to create a unified esports showcase across genres and platforms.

Multiple paths to compete

Players can reach the ENC through several channels. Open qualifications offer entry points for rising talent, while national rankings and regional tournaments secure spots for established competitors. The approach balances accessibility with competitive depth, building a field that spans skill levels and regions across all games.
